#17 Ohio State 94, #22 Michigan 85 (final)

Matt Sylvester shouldn't even see the court unless theres 1:00 left in the game, his defense is deplorable and he consistently takes bad shots.........if ivan harris' defense is that much worse than sylvesters it must be non-existent

I totally agree with you, id rather have Lewis on the court though. With Harris coming off the bench for him.

On another note, BIG WIN FOR THE BUCKS TONIGHT BABY! The Schott is going to be rocking for the Illinois game!

how many times did you notice sylvester out of position on D tonight? I saw Dials/Twigs get beat a lot, I didn't notice Sylvester hardly at all. I also saw him create 3-4 turnovers and notch a few blocks. He forces it at times on offense, but also creates great things on offense.

great idea (a 6'4" PF?!!!). We definitely could afford to become even smaller :roll2:

Have you been watching all season?????

I respect you as a poster, but have you been watching all season? He is a total liability with the ball in his hands. Yes, he does hit big shots, but not until the end of the game. His performance before them is poor. A good example of this would be the Michigan State game. He took a horrible shot, then turned the ball over before redeming himself with a lay in with a couple seconds left to send it in to the 2nd OT. I guess I am just not a Sylvester fan.

great idea guys. We definitely could afford to become even smaller

Lewis is two times the rebounder Sylvester ever would be. Harris is also 6'7 along with Sylvester.

Michigan did win the second game of hockey, 3-2. Still, I'll take three out of four (especially football and basketball) anytime. What's best is that all those games were at Michigan.

Yes sir, I have.........What am I missing? I'll trust Thad on this, but I just don't see what Sylvester brings to the team accept for being in the right place at the right time under 1 minute.......He plays lazy defense, and takes terrible shots...when he's open he shoots under 50%......I don't get it....., I'll but I will trust Thad...Thad knows whats up and hes the man

I get as upset as anyone during the game, ask cbf40 (he watched the game with me). But he also sets up a lot of things off the dribble, finds teammates with good passes, and provides a spark to our offense. Lewis can create for himself at times, but other than Butler I'm not sure there is a better guy for setting up his teammates.

Sylvester is far from perfect. But who is going to do a better job? Lewis is NOT a 4. Harris was getting scored on tonight, and doesn't really create anything (he can shoot open threes, tho until recently that wasn't always the case).

I didn't see much of this 'lazy defense' tonight. I saw a lot of it out of dials until the last 10 min.

Matt Sylvester should never try and hand off the ball again. On the other hand, the juices must have been flowing when he threw that dunk down (after he look about 5 little steps to get his timing down before lift off).

Jamar Butler continues to impress me...such a leader on the floor (like Lavin said, and extension of Matta on the floor). Nice to see him knock down some shots tonight too. He always looks like he is complete control.

As much as I love Ron Lewis, I think him coming off the bench is a great thing. He's like one of those guys that wins the NBA's 6th Man award and everyone wonders why he isn't starting. He just seems to bring a spark when he comes off the bench. Him and Harris were great catalysts tonight.

Did Mayes even step on the floor? He has really struggled lately...trying to do too much sometimes. I hope he is able to get things in order.

Sylvester once again redemed himself tonight by getting a couple of steals down the stretch. This is almost an art to him.

I will agree he creates off the dribble, but have you seen his behind the back. It seriously looks like a 6th grader trying to throw the ball behind his back.

JWinslow, we're watching different games I guess.....neither is good, but when I watch Matt on D, im either seeing a lazy defender who continually gets out a step late, or hes just slow and gets beat....whenever hes in zone and the ball is on his side you can count on penetration b/c as he comes out, it takes one pump fake and hes out of bounds as the ball goes to the hoop....on offense as stated before, he routinely turns it over and takes bad shots...when hes open he misses the rim as often as he makes the shot it seems like, unless its under 1 minute of course.....anyways I'd like to see Ivan ou there more, and I think their defense is pretty even...I'd give Matt a rebounding advantage, and Ivan a better advantage on staying between ball and hoop and creating tougher shots

have you seen Dials pass the ball out of a double team effectively? not often... but he's still starting. Just b/c the starter has a glaring flaw doesn't mean the backup is a better choice.

Who is going to guard a 6-9 forward? Sylvester defended him, and he took one shot, and only grabbed three boards (despite being their leading rebounder).

Sylvester has his faults, I just don't think Harris is going to be an upgrade.
