That quote was about their starting qb and their TE. They took him out to dinner...and he felt real comfortable. Apparently, that's what put them ahead. Kids come from different backgrounds and our coaches spent a lot of energy chasing this guy, but at the end it was as simple as picking the right guys to host him that made the difference. Maybe it is short sighted on his part, but people go with their heart and comfort level when in doubt.

TE Mike Gesicki

Bill O’Brien shouted with joy in Mike Gesicki’s ear when the player informed O’Brien he chose Penn State over Ohio State. Rated as the top tight end in the country by 247sports Gesicki joined the class in October and is slated to enroll in June.

He wanted to come to Penn State because of how O’Brien uses the tight ends so without O’Brien I’m not sure if Penn State would be able to keep him. But you never know. We’ll wait to hear from Mike and provide a more thorough update when we know more.

He IS in Jersey today to meet with Steven Gonzalez, Noah Brown and others. I'm not sure I'm buying this yet considering James Franklin is supposed to be at the same basketball game and then go straight from there to do an in-home with Mike. We'll see if it happens.

Meyer and Warinner will be at his school today and his game tonight. Game on.
