247 $ OSU chases Virginia running back

2/14

By Jamie Oakes...Excited by the offer, but has no favorites. at this time.

I love the amount of rbs we're going after, and I also love that we are now looking into the tidewater/757 area of VA for talent. Our stiffest competition from this region will be VA tech and to a lesser extent, uva.

On a side note, is it just me or does he look like nate robinson/50 cent?

I think we get Green as a big back and then another smaller fast back. A Jordan Hall type.

Green can't wait until next Feb. if he wants to be a Buckeye... Guaranteed.

But I agree on what types of backs we might take. Mizzell definitely fits the mold of the classic "3rd down back" that the NFL likes. Smaller, shiftier, faster that can catch the ball out of the backfield... Guys like that play well in spread offenses.

Really, this is true of most if not all the recruits this year. Correct?

I disagree with that partly. I believe the staff takes the best 2 rbs that commit. We have a number of high caliber backs that we've offered and I don't see our coaching staff turning any of them down. Besides, the only big rb we seem to be targeting is green, since it seems isaac is classified as a scat back. If for example, isaac and mizzel, or mizzel and the kid from Missouri, were to commit then we would be set and the staff would move on. I just don't see us waiting for green until after NSD if any of these other rbs were to want to commit

Isaac is 6-2 220-230 range. Not a scat back by any means. He, Green, and DeVeon Smith are the bigger backs we are recruiting.

I only think 2 are taken if the 2nd RB can be a hybrid/speed type kid like Mizzell can be.

I agree that isaac is big in stature, but he's being described on the boards as the hybrid/speed type u mention for the 2nd type of rbs. Because he doesn't run in a punishing manner like the other 2 mentioned. That's why I put him in the scat back category

I understand that, but he's still a more traditional style RB than he is the other.

I see us taking 2 backs only if they are pure RB's. Isaac and Elliott (in my mind) are athletes that can play RB or WR. I think we would add them to any two from Mizzell, Green, Smith, Williams, Logan, Green, etc.

I know for a fact recruits are being told there is only room for 1 RB this year.
