This is about to get interesting because you gotta expect a commitment soon here unless Timmons feels he got overlooked for too long. Robinson twins are likely out and I'm assuming we are out of the picture for Lauderdale (or we like Timmons better). Not sure if this says anything about Wilson. Either way, Urban certainly keeps a recruitnik guessing.

To me, the longer this goes without Ohio State receiving a commitment, the less likely this "offer" is real. Got the feeling Ryan was waiting for an OSU offer and he would commit on the spot. I just have a hard time believing that on the eve of some pretty big WR prospects coming to visit, Coach Meyer would issue an OFFER as opposed to an offer.

I think this is the staff priming the wheels. Get Ryan really excited, bring in some other top prospects to get a feel on how OSU stands in their eyes, and then proceed with Timmons after that.

I really do feel like a low-life for amateur-analyzing high school recruiting this in-depth :lol:

Courier-Journal - Timmons gets Ohio State offer, sets Feb. 5 decision date

Franklin County receiver/running back Ryan Timmons, a Courier-Journal All-State player and the top in-state offensive target of the University of Kentucky, received scholarship offer from Ohio State on Tuesday night, Flyers coach Chris Tracy said.

It?s an offer Timmons has sought for months to go along with the major offers he has from UK, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, California, Arkansas, Purdue and others.

Tracy said Timmons will announce his college choice at 1 p.m. Feb. 5 ? the day before national signing day.

The coach said Timmons is deciding whether he wants to visit Florida, which made an offer on Sunday, or Ohio State with his fifth and final official visit. Tracy told Timmons he also would be willing to drive him to either of Columbus or Gainesville for an unofficial visit in order to make sure he sees all the places he wants.

Thank you sweet lord baby jesus Ryan got an offer. He certainly has been patient.

I wonder if this offer also has anything to do with wilson, and also corn elder. It seemed like timmons was behind all of them in pecking order

Patience is paying off for Ryan Timmons as big-time scholarship offers keep coming in.

Ohio State offered the ESPN 300 athlete during a visit to Timmons' school on Tuesday. Timmons has long expressed interest in the Buckeyes, but coaches there had yet to extend a scholarship offer. Timmons said head coach Urban Meyer explained the situation and that there were no hard feelings about the delay.

"He said he's not a guy that's going to offer a guy and take it away," the athlete prospect from Frankfort (Ky.) Franklin County said.

UK Football: Franklin County's Ryan Timmons still has UK on his short list

He?s still enjoying the recruiting process, but Franklin County receiver Ryan Timmons admits it is ?getting tough with all the schools firing out right now? to decide where he will play his college football.

He got a scholarship offer from Florida last week and added one this week from Ohio State. Both are schools he?s had a long-time interest in and had been waiting to receive scholarship offers.

?It?s all starting to get really serious right now and I have to think about getting my list down to three or so schools,? said Timmons. ?But right now I am still side open. There is not a favorite school or group of schools.?

He has offers from Arkansas, Purdue, Illinois, California, Cincinnati, Missouri, Western Kentucky, Wisconsin and several other schools along with Kentucky. He plans to make his college choice known Feb. 5 ? one day before the national signing period starts ? during a 1 p.m. ceremony at the high school.

?Ryan doesn?t want word to get out early, so he?s going to let everyone know his decision before signing day,? Franklin coach Chris Tracy said.

Timmons had 72 rushes for 1,260 yards and 25 scores for 12-1 Franklin last season and caught 29 passes for 970 yards and 17 more scores. He had 45 total touchdowns and scored 260 points. Tracy says Timmons, who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds at a Kentucky camp, played last season at about 187 pounds and now weighs around 195 after opting not to play basketball this season to concentrate on recruiting.

?He needs to get stronger and turn that 195 pounds into all muscle, but he?s a legitimate 5-11, 195-pound guy with speed who runs good routes,? Tracy said. ?His legs are huge. Ohio State was in here and said he was even bigger than they remembered.?

Timmons said he didn?t mind waiting so long for Ohio State and Florida offers. He understood that Ohio State coach Urban Meyer had to evaluate his current roster and also honor offers that had been made to players before he got the job last year.

?I just had to wait and let it all play out,? Timmons said. ?Now coach Meyer decided to pull the trigger and make the offer.?

247 - Timmons? Ohio State Visit Off

Last week the Buckeyes offered a scholarship to slot receiver/running back Ryan Timmons (Frankfort, Ky./Franklin County). That came not long after Timmons had been offered by Florida and had scheduled an official visit with the Gators the weekend of Feb. 1.

On Friday evening Timmons decided to keep his visit with the Gators this weekend rather than to visit the Buckeyes instead.

Today Timmons has decided not to make an unofficial visit to Ohio State this week before his official visit to Florida.
