'12 MN OL Nick Davidson (Stanford Verbal)

Has it been confirnmed he actually has an offer.

In my dream scenario he and his dad have a group verbal.

Dad comes on as OC/OL coach.

In all honesty, If Luke wants to enhance his chances of retaing the gig - he needs to present a formal, coherent plan (poste haste) to Million Dollar Gene - which outlines his proposed staff in 2012.

There will obviously be 3 or 4 slots to fill, and tho offensive side will need an almost total reboot.

Thanks for allowing me back on the board.

Kind Regards Diddy.

I know this is Nick's thread so don't want to stray too far off subject but I don't think Luke needs to show Gene anything other than wins. As long as Gene continues to handcuff Coach Fickell, by not giving him a definitive contract with a reasonable amount of time to succeed, Coach Fickell is going to have trouble attracting top flight assistants and recruits. If you're Jeff Davidson are you really going to leave your job with an NFL team to come coach some place where the man who hired you may or may not be around next year?

I fully expect Coach Fickell and OSU to come out this year like gang busters and pick up on the field right where Coach Tressel left off. When this happens I hope OSU quickly moves to shore up Fickell's contract situation.

Obviously, I don't think Davidson would leave the VIkings this year and be on the sidelines v Akron.

What I stated was that it would behove Luke to submit a well written document, which would include a proposal on possible new coaches if he were to get an extension.

Way to motivate your current staff, send a letter to the AD of who you would like on your staff next season before this season has begun.

You really must like being banned.

So if we get Nick Davidson at one tackle, and Jeff Davidson as well, does that mean with a little Grecian formula he'll play guard? If there was any animosity between the assistants, it's more likely to be between defensive coaches or offensive coaches, not across the lines.

I'm sure there's a lot of sucking up going on, but also some better coaching going on, because everyone's on 'double-secret probation' or maybe not so secret. Fick's loyalties don't run as deep as Tress's, or maybe more correctly said to as many people, as Fick's loyal to Heacock and Vrabel. More probably, if the AD has a beef, or listens to certain radio talk shows, he's gonna try and influence an outcome or two. If Fick lets Smith roll over him and pick his staff (or who gets ousted), then he's not the coach OSU needs.
