'12 FL DB Travis Blanks (Clemson Verbal)

Travis Blanks (pictured right) is a player that we featured in the top 12 for 2012 and he is one of the nation's best. The Buckeyes sit in good position right now according to what Blanks has told the media, but it will be an uphill battle as the Bucks are joined by Auburn, Florida State, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, Louisville, South Carolina, Tennessee, UFS, and other in offering the North Florida Christian (Tallahassee) product. As a junior Blanks notched 104 tackles and 4 interceptions while playing corner back, and also returned two punts for touchdowns on special teams. I think because of his excellent tackling ability and length, Blanks projects as a better safety for the college game. It will be interesting to see how things play out here, but if he visits for camp in the summer or in April for the Spring Game, you can start top get excited about potentially landing what could be the best player in the state when it's all said and done.

I get it, I just thought it was interesting b/c Cash called it a "business decision" as well. You don't always hear the process referred to that way.

Other than the Newton's, a business decision usually means finding the right scheme to better prepare you for the next level. Recruiting is about how you fit into the scheme and where you feel most comfortable. Academics & the overall environment are imporant factors.

I might be wrong but didn't Pryor say something similar?

To be honest, this decision is a business wise, choosing a school based on tradition, or choosing on factors like: depth chart, coaching staff, best system, providing a path to the NFL, etc.

Haha guys I completely agree, I just distinctly remember Cash referring to it that way and even wearing a suit because he was taking the process so seriously. Did not mean to imply anything otherwise.

Blanks' approach, like Cash's, is refreshing considering some of the circuses we've all seen.

I think you're missing the point. The SEC pays their players, thus it is a business decision.
