Landon Turner

Offensive tackle
Harrisonburg (VA) Harrisonburg

Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 294 lbs

One of the top players in the state of Virginia for the class of 2011. Has early interest in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio State, Virginia, and West Virginia (his father and uncle both played for the Mountaineers).

Great video, I hope they go after this kid hard. Has a great mean streak and to display it like that as a freshman, kids a roadgrader. I like the firct clip where the kid hes blocking just put his arms in the air then gets slamed to the ground. Plays through every whistle it seems.

Speaking of Wet Virginia he reminds me of Josh Jenkins, but there was no way JJ was this good as a freshman. I can't wait to see his junior film. Great drive blocker, long arms, moves pretty well, and big and strong.

5:45 mark is just sick, they should put this kid in jail for the way he plays...I love it.

Good drive, plays with a nasty attitude, I like how good he is at gaining leverage at such a young age. Uses his hands well. Already strong but def. can get stronger, that always seems to take years to develop.

Virginia and OL, always impressive.

Talks about his recent visit to Virginia Tech...will be making visits this fall for several games (Ohio State vs. USC, Virginia Tech vs. Nebraska, UVA vs. Georgia Tech, UNC vs. Duke, Georgia vs. LSU, Maryland vs. Rutgers and WVU vs. Marshall)...interested in academics, distance, history of developing OL and team chemistry. Has offers from UVA, VT and WVU.

One of the 2011 Scout100 prospects will be heading south this weekend. He visited Georgia over the summer for a camp and he is ready to see what the atmosphere is like on gameday in Athens.

Turner seemed very impressed by the atmosphere at the USC game and he was able to spend some time with Coach Bollman. He compared it favorably to the atmosphere at the Va. Tech / Nebraska game where was able to meet Bruce Smith. His top 5 are North Carolina, Va. Tech, Georgia, Maryland, & Ohio State. Others schools he's looking at include Michigan State and Penn State.

Its good to see the staff on him this early as an OOS prospect. An offer probably is imminent at some point. Alot depends on who tOSU ends up signing in the 2010 class at OT (James or Henderson). OL are risky recruits. If you strike out on a prospect, its not like you can move them to another position. You are basically stuck with this Scholarship for 4 or 5 years. I like how Bollman works out a prospect at their camp before offering.
