'11 OH OL/DL Donavon Clark (Michigan State Signee)

I just watched his film for the first time and I was very impressed. I'm with Wad, DT for sure. On the OL, I think he would be a guard personally and it just seemed he had some trouble keeping engaged. On defense, he can really roll for a big guy and gets considerable disruption considering he comes up almost completely upright every play. With some coaching, Clark could be an animal at DT because he really has the tools to work with. When you have a big, strong guy like Clark that can move, it is a rarity in this region so you put him at DT.

ScoutTV - Donavon Clark OL/DL #70 Class 2011

By Dave Berk
Midwest Recruiting Analyst
Posted Oct 28, 2009

Ohio lineman will have plenty of interest as his junior film hits coaches desk. Here are some clips from the first half of the season for Donavon Clark of Cincinnati (Ohio) Finneytown High School.

Berk calls Clark a natural bender, explosive enough for either side of the ball, and one of Ohios top prospects for the '11 class. He's hearing from several programs, includling Cincinnati.

2011 - wheres the beef?

The first two players that come to mind in the state of Ohio are Donovan Clark from Cincinnati Finneytown and Michael Bennett from Centerville. Bennett has received his offer already from the Buckeyes. The question about both is about size. Neither are ideal sized offensive linemen but when I see bigs with the explosiveness and athleticism of Clark and Bennett, I give them a look on defense first anyway. I am happy to see the Buckeyes offered Bennett as a defensive tackle. You can always move down a DT to offense. I would like to see an offer to Clark. I see the same kind of player. Both are so explosive and disruptive. Clark has a similar early offer list with the exception of the Buckeye offer. He was an invitee to bowl practices and is definitely on the Buckeyes radar. He is in no hurry so time is not a problem.
