Latest Developments: Oregon hosted running back Tra Carson and receiver JaJuan Story on official visits last weekend before a recruiting dead period began. Carson committed to Oregon on his official visit and Story left interested.
Analysis: Carson quickly pulled the trigger on his commitment to the Ducks, saying Oregon was everything he wanted in a college. He visited Iowa the weekend before and chose the Ducks over offers from the Hawkeyes and Arkansas. Carson comes from the same high school in Texarkana, Texas, that produced LaMichael James. Carson recently broke James? school rushing and scoring records in four fewer games. ... Story is an athletic, physically imposing receiver from Florida who is currently committed to the Gators. After Urban Meyer stepped down, the Ducks flew him in for an official visit and he enjoyed himself. What happens next for Story is something he said he will need time to figure out. Story stated he is still committed to Florida but waiting to sort it out.

Ja?Juan Story not quite sure about keeping UF pledge
by Edward Aschoff
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. ? Though he?s one of the more athletic prospects in the Under Armour All-America Game, Ja?Juan Story is still trying to get back into the swing of things.
Story, who is committed to Florida, has the tough task of moving from quarterback to wide receiver in less than a week. Story spent most of his senior year as Brooksville Nature Coast?s quarterback. So far, it?s been a tough adjustment for him, but he?ll need to get the basics down as he?ll be playing out wide at the next level.
?It?s like learning it all over again,? Story said.
Story showed signs of getting back into the rhythm of receiving a few times Sunday. He caught a nice touchdown pass during goal-line drills and ran some crisp routes here and there.
But he also showed he?s still raw. He cut the wrong way a couple of times and ran what looked like the wrong route on a Jeff Driskel pass to him that was intercepted.
Story still considers himself committed to Florida, but he is checking out other options. He officially visited Oregon last month, and while he didn?t come away with an offer, he said wants one from the Ducks.
?It was really nice,? Story said of his visit to Oregon. ?Everything was top of the line ? top of the line players, coaches. Eugene was nice.?
Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and California are other schools that have contacted Story. He will visit Ohio State after the Under Armour Game.
Story has yet to meet new Florida coach Will Muschamp, but has spoken with him. Story said he?d like to officially visit Florida to meet all the new coaches and Muschamp before he makes a final decision.
