Kid's got the whole package right there.osugrad21;1804265; said:Scout$--Gorman's Coach Discusses Star
Coach Alvin Slaughter says Jabari is faster, stronger, a tremendous leader, and is carrying a 3.7 GPA.
Gulliver cut the deficit to 26-14 on a Bo Ellis 4-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. But Jabari Gorman intercepted another Dalton pass deep in Pace territory.
"It's a great feeling to be able to accomplish this for the guys that weren't able to make it last year,'' Gorman said. "We wanted to prove to the entire state that Monsignor Pace is still a state championship contender.''
For Miami Gulliver the loss to Miami Pace pretty much eliminated them from the playoffs. They were overpowered by Miami Pace who just happened to have a better team this year. With the loss of their starting quarterback and Cedric Walker, Gulliver was unable to mount much of an offensive attack. These two loses made it very difficult for them to keep Pace from attacking the entire game. Pace was led by Jabari Gorman who made an impact on both sides of the football. After a year?s absence from the playoffs, Pace will get a chance to make a run once again for a state title. They will need to finish off drives and keep their defense off the field for Pace to have success in the playoffs. They are a young team who has talent on both sides of the football. We expect them to play well in round 1 but anything after that would be icing on the cake.
Clinging to a 7-3 lead with a little more than six minutes left in the game, Jabari Gorman scooped up a Gibbons fumble and rambled 35 yards for a score.
7. Jabari Gorman, DB, 5-11, 175, Monsignor Pace: From the first time we watched him play at the end of his freshman season, there was no doubt that this was an impact performer who would be in demand -- nationwide. His speed, athletic ability and football skills have separated him from many in this state. Looking ahead: Yet another quality football talent who makes an impact as a true freshman.
Region 4-2B final -- University (11-0) at Monsignor Pace (10-0): The Suns had a hard time with Hollywood-Chaminade at home last week despite the absence of star quarterback Jerrard Randall. This time, University takes the road against Pace, which has quieted the doubters all season. The Spartans have a balanced offense, running the ball effectively with Anthon Samuels and passing with quarterback Aryenton Cooper.
University needs to set the tone early with Douglas Cook's passing. If it can get a lead, it will have an edge. But Pace has Jabari Gorman, who likely will be on the field the whole game, playing offense, defense and special teams. If Gorman wreaks havoc, expect the Spartans to march one step closer to Orlando. Prediction: Pace 30, University 28.
