'10 MI DE/TE William Gholston (Michigan State signee)

Was just looking at his stats on the scout profile and it says he had 19 sacks and 2 INTs as a sophomore. That's sick.

Vern was probably my favorite Buckeye ever on the D-Line and an absolute pleasure to watch. Definitely cool his cousin has become a big Buckeye fan in the process.

19 is a misprint, 9 is the number that it should be...

Really looking forward to following this young mans progression over the next 2 years. Here's hoping that when it's time for him to "pull the trigger" that there's a "silver bullet" in the chamber.

Peace, and best of luck young brother!

pictures from the Nike Combine

Bucknuts.com: Nike Combine Photo Gallery

Bucknuts has some pictures up of the "little" Gholston at the Nike camp. Apparently he measured at 6'7 240. Woah.

Hope he had a good time.

ESPN - Budmayr proves worth in Columbus - Insider

William Gholston (6-7, 230), Defensive end (Detroit/Southeastern)
Former OSU linebacker Vernon Gholston may have left for the NFL, but there is another Gholston waiting in the wings. William Gholston, cousin of the New York Jets' No. 6 overall pick in the 2008 draft, will only be a junior next fall but is a similarly freakish athlete.

At 6-foot-7, 230 pounds, he is still a bit awkward in some of his movements and struggles with leverage but showed good get-off, quickness and above average hand usage beating defenders off the edge on the pass-rush. He didn't dominate physically turning the shoulder or attacking half the body but was aggressive and finished well versus older competition. Gholston clearly has the upside to develop into a top 2010 defensive prospect.
