From a mismatch standpoint, I really don't like the thought of Amir Williams guarding someone 20+ feet from the basket. He may not see many minutes in this game.

Yeah, I had thought that as well. One the one hand Niang does shoot many 3s for a 5 man, on the other hand he still does most of his damage inside, though.

Something I learned a number of times in my days... you can't prepare for something you've never experienced

A good NE Ohio football team got shredded years ago by a 225 lb All-State back with elite speed.. not like my friend, the coach, had the chance to use one of his players to emulate what the D would face...

Iona had never seen a D like they met with the Buckeyes

Iowa State has not faced one like this either... the only thing that gives the Cyclones a chance.. is if they are unconscious... but this isn't the glacially slow Domers they faced the other night

This is an era in college basketball that doesn't focus on D... the primary 3 pt damage is still done by their guards... and those guards have never seen a Craft or Scott in their nostrils

I think the way Ohio State plays defense is going to be a factor. Now that Thompson and Scott are coming on in learninig the defense also, it could
make the cyclones to force the 3's more than they would like. We have to keep them out of thier rythmn & tempo.

I'm nervous but really excited.

Any team that shoots that many teams can beat you if they are anywhere close to hot.

What we have to do is play "our" game and not get caught up in the 3 point shooting. Pound em and get them in foul trouble. Get a lead and capitalize on the fast break.

Come on Crafty!!!!
