It's not like he's an unknown, but if you're looking for a breakout star this year it might be Pike junior wide receiver Dyjuan Lewis.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Lewis already has offers on the table from Indiana, Cincinnati and Eastern Michigan after catching 29 passes last year for 414 yards.

Lewis said Tuesday that he doesn't anticipate that he will commit to a school until next summer.

"He has the talent to be one of the best players in the state," Pike coach Derek Moyers said.

Lewis will be asked to play a bigger role this season with the graduation of several standouts from Pike's Class 5A state runner-up team. Dakotah Tyler, who committed to Cincinnati as a safety, will replace Josh Carpenter at quarterback.

"I'm anxious to get started," Lewis said. "We're going to have a good team."

Indianapolis (Ind.) Pike junior wide receiver Dyjuan Lewis may not be getting a ton of passes thrown his way this season, but colleges have still noticed his talent. The 6'2, 190-lb Lewis picked up recent offers from Indiana, Purdue, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Iowa and Colorado.

Said Red Devils head coach Derek Moyers, "?He went up to Notre Dame a couple weeks ago for the Notre Dame-Purdue game and he?s been up to Purdue to check them out. Michigan State and Kentucky have asked him to come and visit. It?s tough right now for him, he?s so busy, but he?ll make some visits as our season winds down.?

A youtube query turns up this video [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYG5J_g_G50]YouTube - Pike High School[/ame]

The first 4:15 are of a QB. The final 2:30 or so are of a lanky WR that, presumably, is Dyjuan Lewis.

Lewis approaching a dozen offers

Wide receiver Dyjuan Lewis (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) has some very good options. The 6-3, 190-pounder has scholarship offers from Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota from the Big Ten. He also has offers from Colorado, Missouri, Louisville, Cincinnati and Kentucky.

Lewis caught 29 passes for 414 yards and four touchdowns during his sophomore season as Pike lost in the state championship game and finished with a 14-1 record. He caught 21 passes for 330 yards and four touchdowns during his junior season.

Among the other schools showing interest are Ohio State and Florida.

"He is extremely athletic," Pike coach Derek Moyers said. "He has great body control and he's very versatile. He also returns punts and kickoffs for us."

Lewis has visited all of the schools he has offers from, except Colorado and Missouri. He will visit Illinois this weekend for a spring practice and Cincinnati the following weekend for the Bearcats' spring game. Lewis plans to attend football camps at Ohio State and Florida during the summer.

"I'm interested in all of those schools," Lewis said. "I'm open to all my choices. USC asked for my game film. And I like Oklahoma and Alabama."

I really hope we get in on Dyjuan soon. Good size, solid speed and nearby. I've heard whispers of hisname in the past, but not much recently. I don't know what is taking the staff so long to send out WR offers this year unless it really does take this long to evaluate. I figure 1, MAYBE 2... who gets Tai-ler Jones' offer? Was it Tyrone Williams?

Lewis has 15 scholarship offers

Wide receiver Dyjuan Lewis (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) hopes to visit Missouri and South Carolina before the end of the summer.

The 6-3, 190-pounder -- who caught 21 passes for 330 yards and four touchdowns during his junior season -- is one of the top prospects in the state of Indiana.

Lewis has 15 scholarship offers including Oregon, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina, Colorado, Kentucky, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa.

"I haven't narrowed it down at all," Lewis said. "I'm going to take all five official visits, but I haven't figured out any of them yet."

Lewis said he will likely attend games at Purdue and Indiana this fall, as well as some others.

Lewis still has USC on list
By Eric Guimaraes

WR Dyjuan Lewis (6-3 188) of Indianapolis, IN has an offer from USC and says they are still on his list. "I have not narrowed my list yet," he said. "I like all of the schools that have offered." He has offers from USC, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Purdue, Michigan State, Colorado, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Louisville, and has picked up offers from Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oregon. Lewis likes USC because of the coaching staff and their recent history. "They've got good coaches and their program is really good," he said. "I want to play somewhere that throws the ball and where I have a good relationship with the coaches." He also said distance from home is not an issue. Lewis says all teams are equal and that he will wait until late in the season before he begins to decide on his favorites and which schools he will visit.
