Football: weekend visitors
At least two confirmed football visits are on campus this weekend.
Indianapolis Pike receiver Dyjuan Lewis and Middletown, Ohio defensive end Rashad Frazier are taking official visits.
Lewis remains a soft commitment to Cincinnati, according to Pike coach Derek Moyers.
He committed to the Bearcats when Brian Kelly was the head coach, but Kelly and some of his staff have moved to Notre Dame. Moyers said Lewis did officially visit Cincinnati and new coach Butch Jones last weekend.
"He wanted to give coach Jones and the new staff every opportunity to know him," Moyers said.
The 6-2, 186-pound Lewis will be at Purdue this weekend and at Kentucky next weekend, Moyers said. "Right now, it's between these three schools," Moyers said. "There's a couple of schools that are trying to get in late, Ohio State and LSU. They're playing a little bit of a wait and see game and they're running out of time."
Moyers said Lewis likes Purdue's stability with coach Danny Hope. "Coach Hope and his staff are going to be there," Moyers said. "They've done a great job recruiting Dyjuan. Coach (Mark) Hagen, coach (Brian) Rock, coach (Gary) Nord, coach Hope, they've all been here. They've shown him he's very much wanted. Dyjuan appreciates that and his family appreciates that. Also, throw in the fact that they like to throw it around a little bit, that's a good combination for Dyjuan."
