'10 FL WR Chris Dunkley (Florida Signee, transfer to USF)

I'm sure some one will chime in with the over-used cliche "trust the coaches" but the bigger question that needs answering is - why are you so mad? I get your point...but chill out man...I'm sure there is more going on behind the scenes that any of us can imagine...hopefully Chris gets his offer...I think he should he already have it...

Comes to camp? Why is he going to come all the way up to Ohio on his own dime, to try to get an offer at camp? He's one of the best receivers in the country and has offers from everyone.

I'm with you, he should have had his offer yesterday unless there is something throwing up serious flags (doesn't seem like it). Imo Dunkley is the most explosive WR in the country and with Jones headed to Stanford, I would have to believe he is next on our boards. Hopefully he is patient.

There is a lot of guys out there who I think us average fans think should have offers and don't. I know they're looking at only having 17 open spots or so but I believe that should likely grow. It is still puzzling to see how few offers are out there, especially to Ohio kids. They shouldn't be offering every kid with a pulse like scUM, its just seems ultra conservative this year.

Well we have a commit from the best OL in the state and maybe the Coutry. We have one of the best OLB in the country. We have a great DE. We have a Leo/Viper coming from Texas. We llok good for an Indiana RB whom JT has said is the best RB in the country...his film reminds me of Eddie George. The #1 CB in the country has us #1 RIGHT NOW. McVey looks like he will be a buckeye and so will Baldwin. If we get just those players right there we would have a top 20 class.

We are in business out of state this year. Ware and Hicks are possibilities as well. It is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to early to be concerned. Jones just committed to Stanford and we will likely be offering a WR soon...possibly Chris.

We do not shot gun offers like Michigan. We send out offers to whomever is first on our board and then when they commit we offer the next guy and so forth. Then we have camp where usually a few guys get offered after the coaches get a chance to see them in person.

Relax and enjoy the ride.

.

By him not coming to the spring game we've likely hurt any chance we had, pretty significantly. There aren't many events prior to the start of the season that can floor OOS recruits like the spring game.. The odds of him camping at OSU are pretty slim. Therefore, we are relying on an official visit to get him interested. By then he may already be committed to staying in the south.

I think we've seen in the past, that you bring up a group of kids from Florida for the spring game, get them together (like Carter, Berry, Emilien, and McGee last year).. and they love the visit, the atmosphere and start to bond with each other.. Chris will not get to experience that and in my opinion any shot we had to awe him and get him thinking about Ohio St. is significantly damaged.

As I said, you bring him up with LJ, Riggs, Duron, and Berry and he probably bonds with those guys, and the idea of leaving Florida to play ball isn't so uncomfortable anymore.

Just my opinion. I'm not mad or angry, just think it's a missed opportunity to get in on a tremendous recruit.

Hey if that is the case...my apologies...i think we are actually thinking alike here but just expressed it differently. Let's hope he makes it, loves it, and gets the offer...

Except we did try and bring him up, so I don't get your complaint at all.

I think you are assuming that the reason he isn't coming up is at least somewhat due to the fact that he has no offer. This is possible but you also have no real idea if it's true. He might have really wanted to come up, offer or no offer. We really have no idea. It's cliche, but trust the coaches... A lot more goes on than we know, I am sure the coaches are not making Dunkley feel unwanted.

Why do people come on here and say . Oh well no reason to offer this kid or that kid . Because he is going to this school or that school . What does that have to do with anything .Last time i checked you cant go to any school unless they offer you . So no recruit can turn your school down if he was never offered.

I have a question? Is it fairly obvious that Chris Dunkley likes Florida a lot? Again I am asking? Is he open to coming to the Midwest?

I know the OSU coaches will be attempting to visit him soon...but I wondered if this kid is a Gator through and through.

Flat out, this is one of those "face" situations.

The kid is very unlikely to leave the south...UF, Bama, etc.

If he should happen to come North, it is a major coup. The staff knows this and is hesitant to waste recruiting time on such a case.

Some kids "collect" offers...this staff does not enjoy being a trophy head. Therefore, as seen in the past, some form of mutual interest must be displayed before the effort is shown.

Remember, Chris can call the coaches as much as he wishes...he can text, email, leave voicemails.

If he is seriously interested, they know it. If he is playing a game, they know it.
