The last kick is pretty nice...goes lefty and stops it down deep.

The best thing about Aussie punters is, as noted, they usually are pretty good at downing the ball inside the five because of the way they learned to kick the ball playing Aussie Rules football.

As for the video, it is difficult to say how good he is on punting the ball for distance/hang time nor for how quickly he can get the ball off.

He's pretty good... his drops are well placed.

I see a very good punter... one thing I did notice is that after he catches the snap he takes the ball down and then brings it back up for the drop, wasted motion right there, thats something they taught me when I went to a kicking/punting camp. Obviously there's going to be an adjustment period and he'll get better coaching but he's got a lot of potential.

What was the guy's name on here that used to be a punter for OSU? HAYN? Love to see his thoughts on the kid.

IIRC, there is some other video on YouTube that purports to show yardage and hang time on his punts.

BN $ - Australian Punter Visits Ohio State

    1/26

By BK...graduated from HS in 2003 and has been playing rugby () in Australia...has visited Ohio State, Arizona and Middle Tennessee State...has been offered a chance to walk-on and earn a scholarship...will visit New Hampshire and Ohio.

If someone steps up and offers a full ride, I don't see him here...

I doubt a a OSU has the space, but an intersting twist would be to offer him a "one year" scholarship with the opportunity to earn a further scholarship. Now it is well known that all scholarships are for one year, renewable annually. But at most schools, they will continue to renew a scholarship for at least four years, even if the SA has not been productive. The conventional wisdom is that recruiting would be destroyed if a school routinely did not renew scholarships for at least four years.

However, I think it is a different situation with a punter. So long as it was made clear that it is truly a one year deal with the opportunity to make into a four year deal, I see nothing wring with it. Far better than getting an offer as a preferred walk-on, for example.
