Game Thread #1 Texas at #2/#3 tOSU, Sat. Aug. 30th, 12pm ET, FOX

If Arch was the second coming, there's no way that Manning Inc. lets him sit for two years. They knew he was a development case. On Saturday, we'll see how that's panned out. All that's really known is that his high school stats and level of competition screamed 3-star and that he didn't exactly shine in those games that he took over for Ewers.
This great mobile quarterback couldn't run the ball one time in the Cotton Bowl without getting knocked the fuck out. Multiple ESPN narratives are going be in concussion protocols unless the UT gameplan is focused on protecting him.

Looking at our starting OL at the beginning of last year vs this year, we lost 4 of 5 starters.
Analysis beyond this would require some research and knowledge, things we cannot expect from the media.
Yeah the stats morons take was this…

(Paraphrasing)

Texas returns a lot on their OL that have game experience just not starts. OSU has to replace two first rounders which isn’t easy to do.

The idiot nerds thought the pass rush was going to be the deciding factor and that OSU doesn’t have a proven line to handle them.

There’s literally 4 of 5 returning from the playoffs so I don’t get what they’re talking about.

Which OL is returning 3/4 and is more likely to protect the QB? Also which QB has the best skill?

It’s a game of matchups. Sayin has the far better OL, better WRs, and better TE.

I just don’t see it with Texas. I’ve also seen folks say their secondary will be elite too? They lost the Thorpe award winner, a 3rd corner, and Makuba. I’m sorry but they aren’t as good as last year. Not great vs a skill group that is better than last year.

The SEC hacks are pretending like Texas has some catastrophic talent advantage. Which of course is 109% false. All of this bravado comes across as wishful thinking because deep down they feel Texas is actually going to lose.
Anyone saying that Texas has a talent advantage is either outright lying or ignorant. They are pretty close. If you look at national recruiting averages, Ohio State is above Texas by just one spot.

On a side note: eight of the past 11 national champs came out of the top 6 recruiting rankings. Sorry State Penn. Being ranked #14 is not cutting it.

Bottom line is both teams lost a lot. I believe I heard both teams have over 80% of their production to replace and both send over 12 players to the draft.

So it’s confusing why we hear that Texas is loaded on defense. How so? They lost half their damn defense. Texas offensive line returns a lot of players with reps. Cool I guess but they return 1 starters, lost their RT in camp, and their starting LT has a hand in a club now.

Just dumb the narrative around Texas.

I am glad. Let them doubt us. Just more fuel for the fire.
