#1 Ohio State 65, Michigan 61 (Final)

Congrats to the buckeyes on a great tough victory. Michigan shot the ball well, but the buckeyes defense shined though in the end.

I went to this game up north and was very surprised at the amount of buckeye fans at the game.

Go Bucks!

If you get a chance, guys, watch ESPN Sportscenter this morning. At 5am EST, Sportcenter's second story was the Ohio State-Michigan game. They end the story with a summary of what not to do when trying to win a game in the "top rivalry in American sports".

It's a real laugher that features the Sims missed dunk, the offensive rebound, the 10-0 run, etc. We were howling with laughter.

A rare sight on ESPN: pimping Ohio State.

NO. 1 OHIO STATE 65 MICHIGAN 61
OSU rides clutch play
Buckeyes make plays and Wolverines unravel for season-ending win

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

ANN ARBOR, Mich. ? This game showed why Ohio State is Ohio State and Michigan is Michigan.
Championship teams, not to mention teams ranked No. 1 in the nation, do what the Buckeyes did yesterday. They come from six points down in the last four minutes by forcing three turnovers, scoring on five of their last six possessions and making all of their free throws.
Soft teams, not to mention senior-laden teams that have traditionally fallen short of
making the NCAA Tournament, do what the Wolverines did. They get outscored 10-0 in the last 3:44 after having not trailed the previous 13 minutes. They commit three turnovers and, with two chances to tie the score in the final 90 seconds, bang an uncontested dunk off the rim and miss the front end of a one-and-one. "We?ve got a lot of heart," Ohio State freshman Mike Conley Jr. said. "We?re competitors."

Buckeyes persevere in game that could have been a trap

ANN ARBOR, Mich. ? If ever there were a setup, this was it. Ohio State already had clinched the Big Ten title. Michigan was playing for its postseason life. The Buckeyes are No. 1. The Wolverines don?t have a number, and if they do, they aren?t about to make it public. Crisler Arena (a k a Crisler Morgue, Crisler Library and the Crisler Museum) hasn?t seen much revelry lately, but it was ready for the kind of loud, jubilant party that used to be thrown for the Fab Five.
Now look around. No. 2 UCLA lost to Washington. No. 4 Florida has lost three of four. No. 5 Wisconsin had lost two in a row before yesterday.

No. 1 Ohio State 65, Michigan 61

OSU squeaks by regular-season finale

Victory gives Buckeyes a boost before they head into tournament play

By Larry Lage

Associated Press

ANN ARBOR, MICH. - Greg Oden took long strides walking up the tunnel out of Crisler Arena and onto a warm bus.
The freshman star hopes to help No. 1 Ohio State take bigger steps this month in the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments.
Oden scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half despite foul trouble, lifting the Buckeyes to a 65-61 win over the University of Michigan on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams.

OHIO STATE MEN
After run, OSU walks away with win

Sunday, March 04, 2007 Doug Lesmerises

Plain Dealer Reporter
Ann Arbor, Mich. -- Thad Matta asked his men's basketball players Friday if they needed to work on their Crisler Arena exit strategy.
"Do we need to practice getting off the court in case they storm the court?" Matta asked. "They told me that wasn't going to be the case."
Yet when Greg Oden re-entered the game with four fouls Saturday and the Buckeyes trailing Michigan by six with 3:54 to play, the 7-footer was understandably concerned about getting swept up in a postgame sea of maize.

"I wanted to be able to walk out of the gym without people smacking me and hitting me," Oden said. "We didn't want that to happen."

OHIO STATE
Buckeyes' late charge beats Michigan, 65-61

By Mark Gokavi
Staff Writer

Sunday, March 04, 2007

ANN ARBOR, Mich. ? A storm was brewing Saturday at Crisler Arena.
Ohio State looked like it may drown in a sea of maize and blue fans flooding the basketball court after a would-be upset of the No. 1-ranked Buckeyes.
"I was kidding those guys (Friday)," Ohio State coach Thad Matta said. "I said, 'Do we need to practice getting off the court in case they storm the court?' And they told me it wasn't going to be the case. I left it at that."

I'm not sure what the upstairs walls are made of. Some sort of MDF/particle board crap. Never occured to me to wonder until about 3 hours ago when I was uttering some very colorful words. :smash:

What should I tell her?
a.) The truth (seems like a bad idea to me)
b.) Watered down version, maybe say I threw the pillow instead of swung it (better than the truth, but not much)
c.) I stumbled and put my shoulder through wall (not bad, could work)
d.) I tripped over her shoes and hit my head on the wall (seems like a winner!)

Tell her the cat got so pissed during the game he actually commited suicide by jumping thru the wall. Be sure to kill the cat and get blood all over the wall.
