That's fine...that's your opinion...and I respect it...but to say:
For a lot of people...they do feel that way. Maybe there is NO WAY for you to feel that way...but some fans do, me being one of them.
What if the loss was to Michigan? Would that change your mind a little bit? (I'm sure you'll say a loss that late in the season would mean we couldn't make it, but we were #4 this year with TWO losses...so it's tough to say that it could NEVER happen)
Until we get a playoff system...I think that winning all of our games is really the only thing that matters. I could care less what some BCS formula with it's BRAIN DEAD Harris Poll voters and Coach's who don't even do their own ballots thinks, or some stupid computers. If you win all your games, you proved all you could on the field. If you lose a game...then you didn't prove all you could on the field, and the only reason you are in the NC game is because another team f'd up along the way as well.
Obviously what we did in 2002 was the perfect scenerio. Perfect season and a national championship. I guess the only thing that could have made it better was if the NC game would have been the Rose Bowl. I'm one of those fans that is really itching to play in a Rose Bowl...It's almost been a decade now...we need to get back to Pasadena.
