This one is in my backyard, and will keep an eye on him. I have always thought this kid was a very instinctive runner with very good (deceptive too) speed and agility. Runs with authority. Very interesting prospect. Worries me though that he might sell himself short with the interest in YSU because of proximity.

:oh: GO BUCKS! :io:

Vindy.com - Steady Stadelmyer helps guide Girard

The Indians ground out a
34-0 victory over Campbell.

By JIM FLICK
VINDICATOR CORRESPONDENT

GIRARD - Girard's defense stymied Campbell Memorial from start to finish, while the Indians' merciless offensive assault was led by junior running back Kyle Stadelmyer, who gained 199 yards on 32 carries and scored four touchdowns in a 34-0 victory over the Red Devils Friday night.

But Stadelmyer wasn't the only weapon wielded by the Indians. Sophomore Tallen Birmingham contributed 43 yards on eight carries and scored a fifth touchdown for the Indians, while junior Dan Gainey added 19 yards on four carries, and quarterback Adam Charles completed 4-of-10 passes for 60 yards.

Stadelmyer gained 82 yards on 15 carries in the first half.

In the third quarter, Stadelmyer scored a touchdown on a 1-yard smash into the end zone to give Girard a 27-0 lead.

Campbell Memorial's frustration erupted on the ensuing kickoff, when a fight broke out on the field and the officials ejected a Red Devil player from the game.

Stadelmyer scampered 6 yards into the end zone in the fourth quarter for the final margin of victory.

In battle of halves, Lakeview is winner

The Indians closed to 24-20 with 11:21 remaining in the game on the third short touchdown run by Kyle Stadelmyer.

The final possession started at the Girard 44 with 1:02 showing on the clock. Charles hit Marty Brinker for 22 yards on a post pattern to move to the Lakeview 34. On fourth-and-1, Stadelmyer ran seven yards for a first down at the 18 with 33 seconds left.

A slant pass was incomplete, but drew flags and Lakeview was penalized for pass interference. With the ball at the 4, Girard tried to send Stadelmyer through the right side of the line but he was stopped by several Lakeview defenders.
