Maybe I shouldn't of said Donte Whitner with more speed...

What I was getting at after watching that exciting film, was a Donte Whitner type player...A guy that can blitz off the edge on a safety blitz, will come up from his safety position and stick you, and can also cover, but isn't quite a true CB...

As for the more speed, I don't know what Whitner's times were but Hunter's 60m time of 6.96 is very impressive and his speed translates the field...

Great comparison imo. Hunter makes plays and is a great athlete...I like him as a FS personally, filling out at 6 ft. 215 lbs. He looked great coming off the edge as well, so he could see some early PT blitzing in nickel situations imo.

He has the star position written all over him IMO...

Yeah he sounds like he could be a good fit for Whitner and Russell's star position and be a starting SS for us. But he's definitely got the speed and hips to be a CB with some work. Probably depends where he fits in with a DB class that includes Givens, Barnett, Wood, and possibly Emilien, McGee, and Banks also.

Rivals $

4/27

Talks about Ohio State & Indiana still being his top 2, but one of them having a slight lead over the other (Hunter would not specifiy which school led). Wants to make a few more visits to Ohio State & Indiana, as well as Michigan State.

Reportedly ran a 10.88 in the 100-meters.

ScoutingOhio

4/26

Film of D.J. playing CB, S, LB, kick returner, and "gunner" in special teams coverage last year. Another film that was released just yesterday on ScoutingOhio that has been on Bucknuts premium for a month or so, as I understand.

Versatile athlete. Looks really good in coverage, can deliver a hit, and looks very dangerous on the blitz from the outside. He's got above average speed at the HS level, but not jaw dropping. Reminds me of Cie Grant quite a bit. I think I like him best as a CB, but I love his ability to do just as well at S and (surprisngly) LB. He's not Whitner, but he's a nice prospect worthy of an tOSU offer IMO.

This film has been out for a month now. You just have to look under the most watched section.

There's track speed and there's football speed. Hunter plays very fast on the field, flies everywhere and does remind us of donte whitner or mike doss. Very smooth on blitzes and disengages well. He is the top db prospect in my books and a must have for this class.

Looks to me he has more track speed and football speed. He's not slow on the field but he doesn't look like Whitner either. I like the offer though.

I think he's got a lot of football speed. It's not hard to locate him at all, just follow the ball. Also, he is the most physical DB out of all the OSU recruits in this class. He is going to be a very special hunter in someone's backfield.

He looks better than Whitner at the same stage. IMO Hunter is the most impressive DB on the board right now.

I don't disagree with any of what you just said. Just didn't really see the Whitner speed comparison.

Agreed on him being the most impressive DB on the board right now...Not sure on Whitner as I never actually saw his high school film...But I didn't like in that article above where it said we had not been in contact for a little bit...

I take all 6 if they want to come with Barnett, Wood, Givens, Hunter, McGee, Vlad or Banks...

I would go Hunter, McGee, Vlad/Banks in that order...
