By Newberg....Jheranie's new leader is Florida, after going to Friday Night Lights. Says he wants to visit Clemson, Ohio State, Missouri, Oregon, USC and others. Would like to make a decision during his season.

Boyd Working On Next Cut
By Phil Kornblut
WR Jheranie Boyd (6-3 185) of Gastonia, NC recently cut his long list of offers down to ten...Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Auburn, North Carolina, NC State, Missouri, Illinois, Oregon and Southern Cal. Soon, half of that list will be eliminated. "We'll narrow the list more early in the season to about five," Boyd's adviser Joseph Johnson said Monday night. Boyd indicated a couple of weeks ago that Clemson and Florida were at the top of his list. Johnson said the Tigers are Gators are strong, but by no means are they clear of the field. "He enjoys both of those schools," Johnson said. "But there are others he likes as well. I don't know if there's a clear cut favorite right now." Johnson said Boyd will get around to some of the area schools to watch practice in the weeks ahead depending on his own football scheduled. Clemson, North Carolina and NC State would be three of those visits.
Boyd, the heralded wide receiver headed for North Carolina this fall, broke his day-old record in the 100 meters with a mark of 10.32 seconds, getting a strong push from Crest sophomore Kendall Kee.
