'09 MI TE/WR Dion Sims (Michigan State Signee)

I can't help but think he's going to be a Buckeye when it comes down to it. Having some stretch the field ability from the TE would be spectacular and would really help Pryor and his successor out.

Hopefully we can get this out of stoneburner next year. Every one seems to forget about him but he to was a 4 star recruit.

I don't think anyones really forgotten Stoneburner, its just he redshirted this year so there wasn't much to talk about. Even then, though, I've seen quite a few posts mentioning JS being a focus of our offense for next year, and the mismatches he could offer.

Dantonio, MSU to host several key prospects

Michigan State Coach Mark Dantonio is set to welcome in at least a half dozen prospects on official visits this weekend. Almost all of visitors have already committed to the Spartans.

However Dantonio is hoping to land a commitment from tight end Dion Sims (Orchard Lake, Mich./St. Mary's) who will leave for his official visit to MSU right after his basketball game on Friday night. Dantonio is hoping the players who have already committed to the Spartans can convince Sims to join them.

When asked if he might commit to Dantonio this weekend," Sims said, "I don't know. But probably not."

The 6-foot-6 and 225-pound Sims also has an official visit scheduled to Miami Jan. 23, and brought up the possibility of visiting Ohio State Jan. 16.

Sims is the leading scorer on the St. Mary's basketball team and says he is interested in Wisconsin, Penn State, Iowa and Purdue for hoops, but those schools have not offered a scholarship to this point.

In East Lansing, Dantonio welcomed in over a half dozen prospects on official visits over the weekend. All had already committed to Michigan State except tight end Dion Sims (Orchard Lake, Mich./St. Mary's), but it may not be long until Sims says he too is a Spartan.

"I liked everything," Sims said. "It was a real good visit. It seemed like I knew everybody and I felt comfortable. I had a nice conversation with Coach Dantonio."

Sims said he might visit Miami Jan. 23, but if he does there is a chance the Spartans could run out of scholarships.

"It's a tough situation," Sims said. "They only have four spots left. They have guys coming in next weekend and if they say yes they can't just turn them down. There is a chance I might commit this week."
