Remember the concern following Herb Sendek's hiring that he would struggle to recruit California because of his East Coast ties? Boy, has he silenced that argument.
You can start with James Harden, but the most impressive thing I've heard in recent weeks is the interest shown in Arizona State by 6-foot-10 forward Renardo Sidney, widely regarding as the top high school basketball recruit ... in the country.
The former Mississippi prep standout, who now attends Fairfax High in Los Angeles, has named six school he's eyeing: Kansas, Texas, Memphis, USC, UCLA and ASU.

I've yet to see anything that would warrant switching this from the main recruiting forum.
He is still listing us and is one of the top players in the nation for his class.

Come on board, don't crush my dreams already
#1 I don't think we will have a scholarship for him and #2, without any inside info, we are on his list all right... way down his list.

Sidney seems like one of those kids that falls in love quick. Being that he's from Mississippi, East of the Mississippi isn't out of the question, but he has seemed to get acclimated to the West Coast. I wouldn't be shocked to see him end up anywhere...Memphis, Texas, UCLA or even ASU where he has strong connections to. He's a prospect that you find a scholly for. Room or not, if Ricardo put OSU at #1 on his list, there would be a scholarship for him.

Renardo Sidney is considered one of the best players in the country, but when I watch he just doesn't do it for me. He's a big guy and strong but only had 15 points and five rebounds in the LA Dream Team loss to Franchize All-Stars. He should dominate most games. John Henson did have 25 points and 14 rebounds for the Franchize.

Squeaking into the top ten by the skin of his teeth is Renardo Sidney who after his first two years in high school was the clear cut top prospect in the class and appeared destined for greatness. Those lofty expectations have been severely decreased and there are fears that his immense talents are being wasted. While the game comes extremely easy to him when he tries, the problem is he rarely sustains any intensity level and focus. The right college situation will be key for his development and future.

Sidney to visit Mississippi State

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/09/30/renardo_sidney.jpghttp://latimesblogs.latimes.com/.sh...uncategorized/2008/09/30/renardo_sidney_2.jpghttp://latimesblogs.latimes.com/.sh...uncategorized/2008/09/30/renardo_sidney_3.jpgFairfax High's Renardo Sidney will make a recruiting visit to Mississippi State next week and is also planning a trip to Nevada Las Vegas, his father says.
Sidney, a 6-foot-10 senior center, also has had conversations with USC and UCLA, but his father said Tuesday that neither is a front-runner. "We don't have a front-runner," he said.
Sidney Sr. hinted that he appreciates extra attention. "If you're recruiting a big-time player, you should recruit him like he's a big-time player and call him every day, not just once every two weeks... That's not interest."
