'08 OH LB Steve Gardiner (Michigan State Signee)

Rivals $

11/26

From the N'Western site...recaps the loss to St. X and talks about playing against Darius Ashley. Still favors Northwestern, Pittsburgh and West Virginia and is still talking to MSU and OSU.

That would be awesome news and hopefully he accepts. I know it's not an easy decision with offers from Pitt and WVU but I would love to see us land Gardiner.

This is a really tough decision but, especially after watching the St. X game, I would love to see Steve choose tOSU. Personally, I would love to see another Dublin kid on the squad too  (I'll bet starBUCKS, Chuckbuck and MondayAMGenius would too ) In all seriousness, the opportunity to play with his current teammates is probably pretty exciting too.

He played amazing against X , personally thought he was the best player on the field that night. Hopefully he will wait a year to become a buckeye but could not blame him if he decides to go somewhere else now.

This would be great...Would give him an extra year to work on getting bigger...He already understand the game very well, and is a playmaker...

Also we have a lot more room for him to be in the class next year...

With Klein and Whiting already and if Gardnier decides to greyshirt then we already have our class of lb's, but there are some national studs that might want to join the party, and Studlein is there as well...

Ferrell is a better prospect than everyone you just mentioned--especially Gardiner.

Didnt Ferrell move to Dline this year??

I agree though, that I wouldnt call that a wrap with LBs.. there are other good ones in Ohio and around the country that have interest in OSU and that OSU should have interest in..

If Gardiner wants to come along then great, but I still think we should be looking to take 4-5 LBs in 09

I LOVE Ferrell's film but I too think he outgrows the LB position...now back to Steve:

I love this decision by the staff...in two-three years when Moeller is All-Big 10 and people are worried about OSU replacing him, we will be able to say, "Gardiner should be able to step right in..."

Pure tackling machine...just a great football player. I thought for a while he might get Zordich's offer but I am glad that the staff turned their attention to Sabino. Steve fills a different spot on the roster than Zordich would have and you know JT loves his S/LB and LB/DE hybrids...
