How many years eligibility does he have left? Also with other DTs available
out of high school, and with the fact that Grant is the only Juco JT has ever put on scholarship (I think I am right), what are the chances he gets offered?

Don't hear JUCO too often around here. Interesting.

Considering the fact that Grant got some significant playing time early on, I think that an eventual offer is not out of the question, and we may end up dippping into the JUCO wells a little more regularly in the future...

JUCO's have 3 years to play 2.

Chris Vance was JT's first JUCO player iirc. Only other one I remember in recent memory was Jack Tucker from CA late in Coops tenure. Started out as a LB ended up buried in the depth chart at FB.

Vance doesn't count though. JT inherited him from Coop.

I take a stab at it...

He has a good intial burst to be able to get off the line and get after the QB...Much like we saw with Pitcock this season to be able to shoot gaps. He will need some refinement in terms of using his hands and getting off blocks, and sometimes his feet stop on contact. Also some of his drag down tackling, will probably not work on Big Ten Rb's. He looks to have a great motor, which is probably the best thing you can ask for in a DT. The one play where he gets to the QB and he throws the ball up in the air and it is caught by the RB and then he runs over drills the RB and makes him fumble the ball...I wonder with his size considering he has already been in college for 2 years, depending on his actual speed if he couldnt see time at DE...If we were to offer I would like it, it would give us a guy with experience to throw in there with Denlinger/Larimore/Rose and the guys we can bring in this year to take the usual redshirt for DT...
