'08 GA DL Brandon Thompson (Clemson signee)

Great news...I think he is a top 5 DT nationally. Honestly I would put him right up there with Forston, Tyson, and Goebel. Unlikely he picks us (I speculate) but a visit could help.

After watching his Rivals film, I dont see how he isnt a Top 100 player. This kid lives in the backfield. Does he play questionable competition?

I would LOVE to see this kid in the class, he is explosive as I've seen from a HS DT. Get him working with Lichter and a big time player could result.

I think he could definetly get caught up in the moment and pull the trigger this weekend. Terrell Pryor and The Brew Crew...and a beating by the # 1 team and # 1 defense on Wisky. Also Heyward is a great piece of marketing material... starting DL freshman from Georgia. Throw in B Rolle and James Scott and that Southern feeling is there. There's just somethig about this season and recruiting, a feeling of invincible.

This is how his HS team site rates their competition (Class AA in Georgia).

The Bulldogs have a tough one this year. A trip to The Jackets? Nest to open the season against Thomas County Central is followed by a visit from the enemies from Cairo. After those two rivalry games, the Bulldogs begin their region play. That means the Bulldogs need to pick up a win in the first two games in order to generate some momentum to ride into through a schedule of arguably the toughest region in Class AA.

Goebel isnt the type of kid who would decommitt...

Thompson is one of the best DTs Ive seen in this class.. If he wants to committ you take him..

I wouldnt mind a class of Thompson, Goebel, Mobley, and Williams on the Dline... I think Garrett could play both DE and DT..

Anyway, i wonder if Thompson and Mobley come aboard, if that means no offer to Scruggs.. at some point we just wont have enough ships

At any rate, Im not gonna get too amped, this kid still has alot of southern schools he's checking out

Not to sound paranoid, but this doesn't have anything to do with Goebel possibly wavering on his commitment to Ohio State, does it?

If you read Goebel's thread, I can't see where you'd get the indication that he's wavering. Indeed, Xpunisher said Garret would honor his commitment quite plainly early on. So, your answer is no.
