'08 FL WR/DB Brandon Harris (Miami Signee)

Harris imo is right up there with Bryant and Johnson as the top CB in Florida...those 2 have a bit more size but I like what Harris has done at a high level of competition. It would be amazing to get Harris, Pryor, and Jenkins to close...and Sabino, Howard, Harris, and Brewster out of Florida. It's nice to dream and I believe we stand a chance but not a very good one.

VARSITY Football Under Armour High School All-America Game

Bright lights find all-stars
Not only will the inaugural game be shown live on TV, but also the practices.
Buddy Collings | Sentinel Staff Writer
December 28, 2007

Miami Booker T. Washington cornerback Brandon Harris had a long list of invitations to all-star football games. None could match the media muscle of the inaugural Under Armour High School All-America Game at 2 p.m. on Jan. 5 at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.

ABC is televising the game live, ESPNU is televising practices live, and highlights from a Skills Challenge next Thursday night will be aired a day later at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.

"I liked all the publicity they're building," Harris said Wednesday. "It's kind of like the Pro Bowl with practices being televised, and I think that will be fun. I'm excited."

Harris, who led Washington (14-0) to the Class 4A state championship in Orlando on Dec. 15, returns Sunday as one of 80 players checking in for the Under Armour game, which is owned and operated by ESPN.

Harris, like Jones, is one of many top undecided players in the game. He has visited UF and LSU, and is scheduled to take official visits to Ohio State on Jan. 12 and to Miami at a date to be determined. A fifth trip is up in the air, with UCF a possibility.

Harris' high school team opened the season on ESPN in a victory against Green's Summerville team in South Carolina.

"I kind of got a taste with the cameras on the sideline and the big-game atmosphere, but it was never like this," Harris said.

The NCAA dead and quiet periods run through Jan. 12 and prohibit college recruiters from attending practices. But Harris said coaches from UF, Miami and UCF told him they will watch the coverage.

Having friends at a school isn't important to recruits? That surprises me.

I think 45 meant that there are other, more important things... Like official visits and such... Having friends at a school is a help, but not always a determining factor...

But as far as friends in this class, Brandon is well acquainted with Etienne Sabino and Travis Howard... Not to mention that he's talked with Mike Brewster a few times...

Didn't say it wasn't important...just said that I don't think it's nearly as important some would lead you to believe...like 22 said all you ever hear about this year is the Brew Crew and all that stuff but believe me, the kids that have chosen OSU so far made the decision because of many factors far more important than their contact with Brewster, Adams, etc. Everyone wants to hand the Brew Crew the keys to the city but let's remember most of these kids chose OSU because of the university, the coach staff (most importantly JT), the facilities, the tradition, etc. What the Brew Crew has done is awesome for this year's class, but let's not forget JT is a pretty decent recruiter himself...

My final 4 for this years class would be:

1. Pryor
2. Jenkins
3. Harris
4. Hale

We pull that off and I'm officially declaring this class the best ever at tOSU. I havent followed recruiting much past the last 5 years or so but I cant believe we wouldnt have the #1 class in the country and maybe our best ever. Landing Harris is probably the longest shot of the 4 but he'll be a gem if put in the right system with the right coaching.

It really sounds to me like Pryor and Jenkins are pretty much in already. If we only have 2 spots left, I think the best case scenario is that Liuget and Harris are impressed with their visit in 2 weeks. That would be a monster class. I think Hale is a done deal to Pitt. Still a shot at Wells too though.
