ST. FRANCIS
  • Coach: Doug Sarver, 16th season, 89-61.
  • Key players: Jason McClelland, sr., RB, 6-0, 170; Josh Oglesby, jr., OL, 6-7, 315; Rodney Sexton, sr., OL / DL, 6-2, 330; James Thomas, jr., RB / LB, 5-8, 205.
  • Outlook: The Mariners lost eight of 11 defensive starters from last year's WIAA Division 4 state runner-up, but the offense is loaded. McClelland rushed for 2,359 yards and scored 23 touchdowns last season, earning all-state honorable mention and first-team all-conference honors.

Wow, that is some incouraging news. Does anyone think this could be somewhat like the situation with Beanie last year? Miss on some nice prospects for one recruiting class and then make up for it by getting a big one early for the next.

I don't think our depth chart could look any better for a top OT recruit for next year. In 05 we took one OT. In 06 it looks like we will take none or maybe a project in Miller. I am not critisizing our OL recruiting, but that has to be appealing to a recruit like Josh.
