'07 OH LB Andrew Dailey (Penn State signee)

Isn't he playing mostly LB this year? I thought the delay in the offer would be based more on the fact that the coaches want to see him play LB a couple of weeks to see how he plays the position but what do I know.

The ND news and the OSU possible offer are interesting indeed.

Just FYI, but Dailey has picked up a written offer from Notre Dame. However, he was told that it is "on hold" for a couple weeks

If he did...it has been very recent. My source is someone who is connected with the staff at ND on a daily basis, and even has a ND radio show. Why would his offer be "on hold?".

If ND is recruiting him as a LB, then I would imagine it is because they are waiting on Ben Martin, Lorenzo Edwards, Tez Wilson, Greg Little, Harrison Smith and Chris Donald. They have offered all of those guys as LBs and already have Kerry Neal and Steve Paskorz on board.

I think no offer is better then saying yeah there are two kids that we like better but if they do not pan out.. come on baord. I am sure that is what happends a LOT in recruiting but to come out and tell a recruit that is bad form IMO.

Maybe, but I would still prefer that honesty than have them lie to my face or dissemble and keep putting me off.

The osu staff often tells various recruits where they are on the recruiting board. I believe this costs OSU some recruits, but endears them to others who appreciate that honesty.

No way am I saying lie to a recruit. But is there anything wrong in telling a kid that they want to evelaute how he performs in his SR. season before they offer. If during that time they get the kids they want they can tell the recruit that there will not be a spot for him because they have filled the positions. Obviously you do not tell a kid a offer is coming for sure then not give him one.

I don't disagree with you Craig. I'm just saying that I personally would want to hear the whole truth...unpleasant as it may be.

Besides if I was told they were waiting on someone else's decision before deciding on me? You can be darn sure I'd work twice as hard to prove them wrong. :)
