'07 MI CB Ronald Johnson (Southern Cal signee)

I'd love for RoJo to end up a Buckeye, but it's always creepy when a kid isn't allowed to make his own decision amongst options available to him. That's unfortunate and there will be baggage no matter where he ends up...

Of course, if anyone is capable of taking care of a good kid with some baggage, its JT...

Could he become OUR Charles Woodson?

That would be sweet!!!!!

Go Buckeyes!!!!!
Ahh, the karma. I don't remember Charles Woodson's recruitment, so I have no idea how close OSU was to getting him. But, an Ohio boy going to Michigan, to play both ways and eventually win the Heisman. RoJo, now it's your turn. A Michigan boy to go to Ohio State, to play mainly WR (but possibly both ways) and eventually win the Heisman (fingers crossed here).

Woodson was Michigan all the way, just like Manningham - Ohio State never had a shot with either kid.

With a brother one year younger that is intent on playing at MSU, that would seem to rule out Mrs. Johnson moving to Gainesville or Los Angeles to be near Ronald. The simple compromise would be.... move to Toledo!

Hate to be an optimist at this point, but...

What usually happens when an Ohio kid waits until late January/early February to announce? They usually end up leaving the state, and announcing late allows them the least amount of grief from the locals. I could see RoJo doing just that. He's been unusally tight-lipped throughout the process.

Patting myself on the back

Not sure if it's been mentioned (probably has...), but if Mrs. Rojo has as much influence on Rojo as some indicate, I can't see her pushing him across the country to FL or CA. IMO this is a Big Ten race, and the supposed timing of JT's visit would be good news for OSU. And referencing my theory above, late announcements tend to favor the out-of-staters.

Could this be a matter of JT and staff pushing for quicker, public announcements now after getting spurned earlier? A few days after Heyward's in-home and even before his official was scheduled he sets up a presser out of nowhere and commits to us. Now, the day after RoJo's in-home, he drops Michigan unexpectedly and things start to look better for us. Maybe a change in philosophy?

Mr Johnson had planned his announcement for this Sunday before any of this rumor mongering took place.

You may be correct BGriff, but I highly doubt that JT and staff would change philosophy the week before signing day.

Yes, I know he has always had the announcement planned, but the public elimination of scUM is rigt on track.

didn't he JUST come off a visit to florida ? i mean he was pegged as a wolverine from day 1 and after this visit he drops them, wouldnt that point to him being a gator more than anything ? would love to see him don the scarlet and gray but i just dont see that happening.

. . . . . . . . Unless he has wanted to be a buckeye for some time, and the staff told him to be sure, by taking all of his visits, then commit. Perhaps after Florida he is now sure, and it is possible it is not Florida. A long shot I know, but recruiting is full of surprises.
