'07 IL RB Robert Hughes (Notre Dame signee)

the one positive about this is that Tez Wilson going oos pretty much closes the book on Hughes going to Ill. Without those two, Brent may favor leaving the state as well.

If Wilson and Hughes go to Ill, then it's very probable that Brent follows.

It was a showcase for the Public League as the two best football prospects in the state -- Simeon receiver/defensive end Martez Wilson and Hubbard running back Robert Hughes -- squared off in a Prairie State conference showdown Friday night at Gately Stadium.
A standing-room crowd, including scouts from Notre Dame, Ohio and Miami, saw Simeon defeat No. 10 Hubbard 26-23.
The Greyhounds took a 23-20 lead on a 21-yard field goal by Juan Coria with 5:13 left in the game.

Wilson then showed why he is rated as one of the top five players in the nation when he caught a five-yard pass from Jack Ramsey, bounced off two Hubbard players and caused a third to miss en route to a game-winning 52-yard touchdown.
The Wolverines held a 20-13 halftime lead, as Simeon wide receiver Rashad Bonner stole some of the attention from Wilson and Hughes. Bonner scored the game's first touchdown on a 12-yard pass play from Ramsey (7-of-13, 163 yards, two touchdowns), then returned a kickoff 93 yards for another score.
Ramsey threw his second touchdown pass of the first half, a six-yarder to Wilson.
Hubbard fought back in the second half and tied the score at 20 when Hughes went in from four yards out with 1:55 left in the third quarter.
Hughes (21 carries, 105 yards) also had five catches for 128 yards.
Wilson had six catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, he had nine tackles and two sacks.
''It's not about me and Robert -- we are the best of friends, but on this field, it's about Simeon and Hubbard,'' Wilson said.
Said Hubbard coach Elton Harris: ''This was a tough one to lose. Especially the way we lost it.''
