Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Aquinas defensive back Major Wright has been linked to Miami and Florida as favorites, but the 'Canes and Gators need to watch out for Ohio State. There are some close to the program that feel he's going to head north to play ball in Columbus.

Eight Broward players nominated for game

Eight county players have been nominated for the annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the premier high school football all-star game.

Of the 400 athletes nominated across the country, 80 will be selected to play. Three Boyd Anderson players, linebacker Josh Bynes and offensive linemen Kevin Bryant and Branden Curry, are being considered.

Also nominated were St. Thomas Aquinas standouts Leonard Hankerson and Major Wright, and Chaminade-Madonna's Akeem Auguste and Xavier Stinson.

Ely's Donte'e Nicholls also is a nominee for the game that will be played in January.

Wow!! Top 3, can't ask for much more than that other than an actual commitment. I had read rumblings that he was giving us serious consideration but was hesistant because I never thought he would leave the state of FL.

USC had a stellar Safety class last year if I recall. What is FL depth chart at Safety like?

Last year Florida got committs from 3 Safeties last year....

Scout 5* #3 Safety Jamar Hornsby- I don't know if he is a S or WR

Scout 4* #19 Safety Riley Cooper

Major Wright, St. Thomas Aquinas senior safety. Already being compared to Ronnie Lott (that might be going a bit overboard), Wright has 11 tackles, two interceptions and one blocked punt
