'07 FL RB Noel Devine (West Virginia signee)

Shocking. :roll2:
I don't know what is more shocking... the fact that A) Dick Rod recruited him despite knowing he had pretty serious academic and moral/character issues (see also Pacman Jones, Chris Henry, Pat Lazear, etc.), or B) he is ALREADY in trouble less than a year into his college career.

The sad part is that is a really hard question to answer.

You guys are harsh.

This kid is obviously acting out as the result of losing a father figure - RR.

When RR made the call to Pryor the morning he took the UM job it was only to plead with Pryor to come to WVU so he could keep an eye on Noel.

These kids and their well being are ALL the man thinks about.

I would have to agree with this statement. I lost my mother last month and I have seriously been thinking about getting a group of guys together and beating up some students on the OSU campus.:tic:

Clearly, the members on this board have to counsel you against adopting DickRod as your new mother figure.:wink2:

Exactly what I thought. I believe the phrase is, you can take the man out of the hood, but not the hood out of the man.

On the other hand, can I convince you to go up in front of live cameras and say this phrase directly to Ted Ginn Sr.'s face?

IMHO, The issue is kids like this can either find role models (Ted Ginn Sr., Jim Tressel) or enablers (DickRod). In the first case, they've got a chance, should they take advantage of it (just like everyone else in the world). In the second case, they've just got the DickRod.

When Neon Deion Prime Time Sanders is the most responsible role model in your life, that's a telling sign. When that's the best you've got and you still blow him off, that's a sign of immaturity (not uncommon given Devine's age).

Devine's got to find someone who will help him, not just take advantage of him. Not sure if the current WVU coaching staff will be part of the solution, or part of the problem. I guess we'll see.

That is one tough SOB...he approached the group because they were "staring" at him. Then gets his foot stepped on but receives an apology...but still manages to get into an argument. Then, he gets punched in the back of the head which knocks him down to the ground where he is kicked by 6 football players...yet he is able to identify who is attacking him....but only 2 of them.

Bar, alcohol, inconsistent story = minor punishment for the players

I'd love to hear the other side of that story.

I don't know, grad.

He says he asked them if he knew them from somewhere. It didn't sound like "Are you looking at me?" Dinero-like response.

Could be one of those intentional/unintentional things.

Didn't he say he approached their table? He could have seen them then.

They both said they were punched and kicked. We don't know the whole thing of what they said. Re: minor punishment, no doubt

Do you expect him to say he was instigating at all?

Don't know...I just always take stuff like this with a grain. I can remember watching guys trying to start stuff with athletes at OSU at bars and when we had parties.

I'm not saying they are innocent...but I would guess there is much more to this story than some 100% innocent kid in a bar being targeted.

Wait, so you mean to tell me that these OSU athletes did not open fire INSIDE the clubs/bars? Last I heard (from Randy Shannon) this kind of stuff happens on a daily basis in Columbus with our athletes.
