'06 VA WR/CB Damon McDaniel (Florida State signee; transfer to Hampton)

It may be wishful thinking, but this would explain a lot of events that have happened with wr recruiting this week. Fingers crossed, but not counting on it!

That's what I was wondering. Even though it seems we wanted Lyons, some locals doubted any serious OSU interest. Take it fwiw but I am wondering too if this is why we turned down Bowman when we knew Chichester wasn't going to make it and we didn't get Lyons. All speculation though, as I think he would change to FSU if he does switch. Thanks for the info g8rbait but had Meyer already had his in home with McDaniel or was it scheduled as the same day as Harvin's?

Just visited the Florida scout site and found an interesting thread on their recruiting board. Many think OSU seems to have a good shot and one poster claims he is commiting to OSU. While I don't buy into it that much, it is interesting to read all the same.

they have some extra motivation to hope he goes to OSU over an in state rival.

Hes dead wrong. He started off the thread sounding 100% confident, then a page later he says this:

He's back-tracking.

Why any WR would want to play for FSU's "offense" is beyond me...they make some of the old Tressel offenses look like USC.

One has to wonder what kind of "southern hospitality" Bobby gives these kids on their visits...

People were saying the same thing about us just last year. Thing can change quickly especially if you get talent.

I just find this whole situation very interesting.

FSU just got a commit from a WR named Brent Brewer from Georgia. He is a 3 star recruit and ranked 36th at his position.

Not somebody that would scare him away i'm sure, but I don't know what FSU's class needs and if they would take him if they felt confident on McDaniel. It's good news to some extent for sure.

Nice find. I agree, it sure as heck wont hurt for them to have another WR in the fold, which is probably why he dropped Florida in the first place.

Alex Rose officially verballed to FSU today after switching his verbal from Auburn.

The noles have 18 commits. They have 5 commits that are early enrollees so they will not count against the 25 limit this week. They are expecting a few NQ's, leaving them room to pick up 12 more kids.

They feel really good about landing a lot more players, tho it looks like McDaniel is the only WR they are talking about that is still on the recruiting board.

FSU hasn't had a decent offense since Weinke was the qb. Jeff Bowden is probably the worst offensive coordinator in major college football, and even with 5* all-americans at every offensive position (qb, too), they still stink. Tressel has his flaws as an OC, but when he has his peices in place, his offense is 10x better than FSU's...

That being said, the Florida and Florida State insiders are both in agreement that McDaniels ends up at FSU. Even if Nevada or someone comes out and says that he'll end up at OSU, I won't beleive it until he signs; Bowden is almost impossible to beat on NSD.

It also seems WR Alex Rose might have decommited form Auburn to sign with FSU.

With more of a need these days at wide receiver, Florida State has been waiting for First Coast (Jacksonville) standout Alex Rose to change his mind on his commitment to Auburn. After a visit to Tallahassee this weekend, and after bonding with a few FSU players, it looks like the 6-foot-2, 190-pound wideout may have done just that.
