'06 OH OT Lee Tilley (Auburn Verbal Commitment)

I see Mom's comments as motivated by pride...I don't agree with her assessment, but I can understand the anger. The Junior Day slight is very telling...

Duane Long had a very nice assessment/rundown of the staff's OL evaluations...I'll defer to them on this one.

Best of luck Lee...
i agree totally. Tilley could very well be this year's gerald cadogen/chauncey incarnato/brandon braxton. While I'm too lazy to look it up, I do believe that he doesnt have very many offers from regional big dogs like osu, mich, psu, not sure about ND or iowa. That is telling. As I alluded to perhaps in this thread, just like osu has to get in on florida kids early, many southern schools have to get in on northern kids very early as well. It will be interesting as the process plays out to see how many schools stay with him and how many begin to lose interest.

Tilley transfers from Springfield South
By Greg Billing

Dayton Daily News

SPRINGFIELD | Springfield South's offense suffered a setback with the transfer of senior Lee Tilley, a 6-foot-7, 295-pound offensive lineman.

Tilley, ranked No. 70 among the nation's top 100 prep players by the Sporting News, is expected to play for Franklin Heights in Columbus. The two-year starter at South is being recruited by major Division I programs Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Washington, among others.

The decision to non-renew Tony Broering's position as head coach led to speculation several Wildcats players would transfer from South. Tilley will reunite with former South offensive coordinator Jeremy Beckham, was hired at Franklin Heights in early August according to reports. Tilley won't have to sit out according to Ohio High School Athletic Association guidelines since he plans to move into the district.

South beat Dunbar 43-13 in Friday night's season opener and travels to Troy this Friday for the Dayton Daily News Game of The Week.

is that the same Jeremy Beckham that writes BearcatInsider? if so, then that's the schmuck who was badmouthing tOSU and defending Tilley. now i know why he was trying to defend Tilley... he was recruiting him to Franklin Heights :roll2:

Tilley Working On Officials

By Phil Kornblut
OL Lee Tilley (6-7 310) of Springfield, OH has not set his dates yet but says three of his official visits will be Clemson, Oklahoma and Arizona State. And there's a new school which has recently popped up on his list...USC. "I just woke up one day and started thinking about South Carolina," he said. Tilley is also considering Florida and Virginia Tech for official visits. "I'm just trying to see what everybody can offer me," he said. "I want to go somewhere where I can win a few games and be take care of. I want to go somewhere where I'm needed. People treat you better when you're needed." Tilley is waiting on his ACT score to return before he sets the dates for his visits. He does not have a favorite.

he wants to feel needed? This kid is going to have a rude wake-up call when he realizes that he is as needed as the other 84 guys on scholarship at whatever school he chooses.

I saw Tilley play last Friday, since for whatever reason he transferred to my alma mater.

The kid has a ton of potential. He pulls and gets downfield and just punishes anyone in his way. While I'm glad that somene from Heights is actually being recruited to big schools, I'm kind of disappointed that his attitude is keeping Ohio State away from him. Best of luck to him, though.

On BN premium, Bob Lichen... posted that osu has recently contacted Tilly. He left it at that. Of course it took all of 2 minutes for someone to come out and say that this is likely a result of osu losing out on aaron brown, to which bob quickly jumped in and echoed that possibility.
