'06 OH OL/DT Aaron Brown (Virginia Tech Signee)

guys, don't forget that this is THE Ohio State University. we will move on with or without Aaron Brown. Let's not lose faith in the coaching staff and what goes on behind the scenes. Good luck to Aaron if he goes elsewhere. If he comes here, that is great, if not we move on to the next guy. No one player will slow down the program (though MC sure tried).

i guess it's just hard for us to believe madville. all we had heard about is how tOSU was his leader and how he loved the Bucks. then things pop up about not enough attention from the coaches and a conflict with Coach Bollman, and it's hard for us to believe that Mr. Brown isn't having an influence on the final decision. i guess we feel that if he really wants to be a Buckeye or loves the Buckeyes, then he would be one. otherwise it just seems that other factors are in play here.

As it has been said on many occasions particularly when it comes to recruiting we don't always get the details. I will share this with you guys with respect to the Bollman situation. Aaron received about 45 offers following his junior campaign. By this time he had already been to OSU's camp three times. OSU was the second school to offer, Cincinnati was first. One of the selection criteria for Aaron was his rapport with the coaches. Aaron and his family really like Tressel, but Tressel while being the OC, is not the position coach, Bollman is. This is the individual that you are most going to have to deal with and learn from. This indiviual determines who plays. If you have little direct conversation between the position coach and player, that player is going to question how he fits in that programs' immediate and long term plans. Aaron isn't demanding to start. He is leaving school early with the intentions of giving himself ample opportunity to get a head start on his academics and football. Boone considered it but wasn't allowed. It's no different than Clarrett, Pittman, Cordle and a host of other players who left school early to increase their opportunity to play early. He hasn't received the accollades and offers because he hasn't put in the hard work. having 70 offers, rated as the number 1 O-lineman in Ohio High mag, one of the top 15 lineman in the country and a top 100 player on every guru's list didn't happen by chance. The staff has seen Aaron since the 8th grade. Aaron cares about the Bucks, but he is making a decision based on what he perceives as the best situation for him and his personal goals. Maybe JT, Bollman, etc can't help him realize those goals in the time frame that Aaron has set for himself. Maybe they can. You get in where you fit in. If you're not sure, then it's up to the recruiters to help you see that their university is where you can "fit in."

I think most of the people that are upset about not getting Aaron are those who have seen nothing of him other than what they read here. As H&G and almost everyone that's personally watched him play will tell you, he's soft. He just isn't a gamer.

Had we lost Connor Smith, I would've been upset. That kid can flat out play. I have no doubt whatsoever that the reports that OSU cooled on him are true. After seeing him play 3 times, I was thoroughly disappointed that he had an OSU offer. He has size and potential(which I personally can't see him ever tapping into), but that's about it. If you look beyond the recruiting rankings, I think most of you will be glad one of our scholarships isn't locked up. I don't mean to be too harsh, but I didn't see anything in him that made me think he could contribute to our OL one day. I'd look for him to be dominated against Colerain.

Best of luck in VT Aaron.

Adam Myers White, had the funniest thread at BN a couple years back.

The Title was Adam Myers-White Defensive Back
People were getting ticked off, because they thought he was being called a white defensive back. Anyone that remembers must admit how stupid it was.

I do recall that very well...

Wish their archive of threads worked well enough to resurrect things like that.
