'06 OH OL/DT Aaron Brown (Virginia Tech Signee)

Scout $

Aaron now has 34 scholarship offers. He lists Tennessee, Auburn, Ohio State, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Purdue and Louisville as his favorites but he insists he does not have a leader. Aaron's father says the family will help Aaron narrow the list to three schools and then the decision is on him alone. The family is looking for a school that does not play politics and will play the best players regardless if they are a freshman or senior. Nebraska's entire staff is writing hand-written letters 3-4 times each week and Alabam had the best facilities the Brown's have seen thus far. Aaron says that he is completely open to all of the schools recruiting him.

Let me head you guys off before this crosses that line you two are walking and others are sure to cross...

Aaron Brown is a great kid from a great family. They have every right to enjoy this recruiting experience to the fullest. Although we would all love to have him committed to tOSU right now, this situation will take patience. Everyone "in the know" has said not to worry about AB...these are the same people who calmed the masses with Doug Worthington.

Lets all be patient and let Aaron enjoy his deserved spotlight. We will all be happy in the end.

The thread title has his position as OL/DT, but I realize that everyone in the college football world is assuming he'll be a O-Lineman. I know when Tressel recruits, he doesn't necessarily break things down like that (Big speed, speed, and power). There's no chance OSU is think D-Line, right? From what I understand, his strongest position is Offensive Tackle, and we are in more of a dire need for o-linemen than d-linemen.

By the way, OL104, did the Neutron man pass away? I hope I'm not showing off my ignorance, but if he did, when did this happen?

Re: Aaron Brown <HR SIZE=1>Hi Everyone,

I would have been here yesterday but I was under the weather. I just wanted to chime in with my .02 cents.

Mr. Brown is very guarded. He lets very few people talk to his son. I understand his reasons.

All I'll say is this, and you guys no me to be very honest and forthright.....

Some people I think are being told that Aaron has Ohio State as his leader right now for a few different reasons that I'm not at liberty to go into right now.

I will say that after my hour conversation with Aaron and his father, I'd say Ohio State has the same chance that 12 or 15 other schools have right now.

I've been in this business for a long time and know when to step away from situations and this is one that I'm stepping away from.

Ohio State has the most ravenous fan base that I've ever seen. You're all truly one of a kind. Having said that, please don't go crazy over 1 recruit. There are so many behind the scenes stuff happening in recruiting, it would make your head spin.

The state of Ohio is loaded with offensive line talent...Not to mention offensive line talent accross the nation. Ohio State is Ohio State and they can, like the rest of the elite programs in the country, be picky about who they offer and sign.

I like Connor Smith, Justin Boren and Lee Tilley just as much as Aaron Brown. Plus there are about 6 more lineman in the state of Ohio that could end up being better that all of the Big 3 when it's said and done.

So, we have a kid who is taking his college decision seriously. His parents are heavily involved. Recruiting gurus and fans are not welcome to participate in the process.

Wow, I wish every recruit handled it this way.

BTW - BN has been readable?

I just posted the comment. Should be fun. :)

I really like how this family is working the situation. They seem like they are honest, open and working their butt off for their kid. I admire them for doing a great job raising a quality young man.

Imo Chris comes on the free boards to sell subscriptons...period.

Now back to Aaron Brown....
and t he funny thing is that whenever anyone calls him to task or illustrates something contradictory to what he says, he tucks tail and runs like a scalded dog.

i called him out last signing day about how he and newberg were basically contradicting each other concerning ranking recruits, and he wont respond to anything i post anymore.
