'06 OH LB Cobrani Mixon (Michigan signee - Kent State transfer)

it doesn't surprise me... it's been 3 weeks now and he hasn't affirmed any committment at all. neither of the scUM sites list him as a verbal anymore either. he definitely doesn't give off the aura that his verbal is strong if even existent.
BTW... Cobra was made a 4* player today by Rivals.

Honor and Glory,

Duane over on BN is questioning the stability of Cobrani's committment to scum.
What are your sources telling you about his status?

To say the least, I find that interesting. Last I had heard from Cobra was when he got off the bus from up north and he said that he wanted to talk it over with his family, but that he was going to do it...

I'll see what I can find out...but it could be a few days. My prime source is on vacation. :(

Pure speculation but I wonder if he was thinking his commitment to scUM may sway Smith to scUM as well. Maybe that didn't happen or Smith got in Cobras ear....."come on Cobra, just imaging what we can do together for the buckeyes. At least there we would have a good shot at a national championship." Again, pure speculation.

H&G,

Over on BN free recruiting board, there was a poster that claimed to be a family friend of Cobra's, and they said that his mom was a huge tOSU lean and that was the reason for not officially committed to scUM yet.

Cobrani and his mother are very close. Its kind of a hard situation to explain on a message board, but his mother really relies on him, as the oldest son, for a lot of things...I know that, if she had her way, he would stay as close to home as possible.

if he's so close to his mother and he knows what she wants as well as a fellow teammate from all accounts on this board is probably going to tOSU, what is reasoning on going to michigan?

Tsun offered a full four year ride and promise of renewing his scholarship every year for four years should he be injured. I don't believe OSU was that detailed in their offer...

Now...that is just scuttlebutt...I have not confirmed any of that with my sources or with Cobrani...but I do applaud him and his family for taking time to figure things out and think things through.

not our fault if they are that desperate for LBs, heck he might be better than their guys if he played injured

I'm guessing from this comment you mean that OSU wasn't ready to hold up his schollie if his current injury never fully healed? Or did you mean that OSU would revoke his schollie if he got injured? (I'm guessing the latter is a unique case where they see the red flag of injury ahead of time, I'd hope we wouldn't withdraw a schollie in normal situations)

That is what I aim to find out. I hope to do a sit down interview with Cobrani next week. A few things have to fall in place, but I am going to see about getting to the bottom of this. :)
