Maybe it's time you start a forum for people to guess the likelyhood of recruits coming here or going elsewhere. It could be a real hoot.MililaniBuckeye said:Seeing as he has 2 posts since joining 12 days ago...
opinions are great and all but following the rules of this forum is much better.BuckeyePride said:I guess I should have added IMHO.

Chip Scoggins, Star Tribune
February 2, 2005
Eden Prairie defensive tackle Walker Ashley will make his long-awaited college decision public today at a morning news conference.
Ashley will choose between the Gophers, Southern California, Ohio State and Penn State. He was expected to contact coaches from all four schools Tuesday night to inform them of his decision.
Ashley (6-4, 290 pounds) was the Star Tribune's Metro player of the year and is the nation's eighth-best defensive tackle prospect, according to national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming.
Ashley had 85 tackles (25 for loss), 14 sacks and six forced fumbles as a senior.
Mr. Football finalists
Ashley and Eden Prairie linebacker Mike Pavelko are among the 10 finalists for the first Mr. Football Award. The list of finalists also includes two other metro players, linebacker James Laurinaitis of Wayzata and wide receiver Greg Martin of Maple Grove.
The six outstate finalists are wide receiver/safety Eric Decker of Rocori, running back/linebacker Nick Grewe of Bertha-Hewitt, quarterback/defensive back Ben Kuznia of Bird Island-Olivia-Lake Lillian (BOLD), quarterback/defensive back Nick Mertens of East Grand Forks, running back Isaac Odim of Rochester Century, and running back/linebacker Joe Sveen of Plainview/Elgin-Millville.
The winner will be announced Feb. 13 at the Nike Coach of the Year Clinic at the Southwest Marriott in Minnetonka. It is being presented by the Minnesota High School Football Coaches Association and the Minnesota Vikings.
Etc.
• Laurinaitis is believed to be the first Minnesotan to sign a football scholarship with Ohio State, according to a Buckeyes sports information department official.
• Six members of Cretin-Derham Hall's 2004 team will sign letters of intent to play college football. They are Ned Tavale (Gophers), Rafael Eubanks (Iowa), Marcus Tibesar (North Dakota), Phillip Wills (Minnesota State, Mankato), Julian Phipps (Minnesota State, Mankato) and Luke Wagner (Wisconsin-Stout).
• Northfield all-state linebacker Zach Larsen, the school's all-time leading tackler, will sign with Northern Illinois.

Less certainty surrounds the most coveted uncommitted recruit the
Lions are after -- Ashley, a four-star defensive end and son of Penn State and NFL great Walker Lee Ashley.
Ashley has been down to four schools -- Penn State, Ohio State, Minnesota and Southern California -- for some time, but his favorite seems to change every time he talks to a reporter.
Ashley's mother, Cindy, agreed that her son has been tough to gauge, even for her, but she said she believes it's down to the three Big Ten schools.
"I think USC is out of it," she said. "But he wants it to be a surprise, so he might be saying that to confuse me."
Ashley will announce his decision today at a 9 a.m. press conference.
Ashley expected to choose USC this morning
Chip Scoggins, Star Tribune

Barring a last-minute change of heart, Eden Prairie defensive tackle Walker Ashley will sign a national letter of intent to play football at Southern California today, according to two people with knowledge of his decision.
Ashley, the state's top recruit and one of the nation's top defensive linemen, is expected to announce his decision at a morning news conference at the school. Reached at home Tuesday night, Ashley's father, Walker Lee Ashley, said the USC commitment was only a rumor and declined to comment further.
Ashley had narrowed his final list to USC, the Gophers, Ohio State and Penn State. He maintained throughout his recruitment that USC, which won its second consecutive national championship this season, held a slight edge over the other schools.
The Star Tribune's Metro Player of the Year, Ashley is ranked as the eighth-best defensive tackle and 88th-best prospect nationally by recruiting analyst Tom Lemming.
