Stafon Johnson
Running back
Los Angeles Dorsey
Height: 6-foot-0
Weight: 189 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.4 seconds
2003 stats: 1400 yards rushing
2004 stats: 161 rushes; 1,781 yards; 19 TD's

May be the top player in California next year. Has interest in Ohio State, Miami, Michigan, and LSU, but likely favors USC and Washington. He is a teammate of top LB recruit Mark Johnson and DE prospect Keith Browner (Cal verbal). Stafon attends the same high school as former Buckeye All-American LB Na'il Diggs.

I would predict the staff to drive hard for C.Wells and LeSean McCoy(PA)

both talented and the logistics make more sense...getting a kid from Dorsey would be akin to USC getting a kid from Centerville,Oh that OSU wanted...

From the Baylor site...Stafon is teammates with David Gettis, who if you'll remember, became the first player ever to commit at the HS AA game to Baylor. Thus, Baylor has been in contact with Stafon as well. He doesn't seem TOO interested.

From the USC site...Stafon has written offers from Baylor, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, USC, UCLA, Cal, and Arizona. His top 5 is USC, Tennessee, Florida, Cal, and UCLA. USC is his favorite. UCLA is recruiting him the hardest.

In somewhat conflicting reports, Stafon claims he is very interested in Southern Cal, Tennessee, California, Florida, Ohio State, Miami and Florida State. He would definitely visit the first 4 and decide for a final visit among the final three. His interest in tOSU comes from Na'il Diggs who is from the same school and discussed the Buckeyes with him. However, in a second report, Stafon's coach claims the player has narrowed his list to USC, UCLA, Cal and Florida.

For those of you who were wondering what the heck musical engineering was, this is what I found on one site:
The Music Engineering program provides a multidisciplinary four-year Bachelor of Music undergraduate degree within a music school setting. All students learn the art and science of recording studio and live music recording, mixing and signal processing, as well as traditional music studies in performance and theory. In addition, we offer a two-year Master of Science graduate degree for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering or computer science. These students learn the software and hardware design of audio systems and perform independent research.
Sounds like something most schools would offer, tho OSU doesn't have that exact title for the major. Anyone know if we offer it under a different name?

Stafon says USC leads slightly over Miami, Cal, Tennessee and Florida. The Gators have not offered. Johnson also claims offers from Washington, UCLA, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State and Baylor (first to offer).
Johnson plans to attend USC's one day camp on June 27. Stafon wants to announce at the Army All-American game in Texas.
