'06 CA RB Stafon Johnson (USC signee)

OK, number one, we all realize USC is the leader by far...let's all agree that point is conceded.

However, rumor amongst the national analysts is that tOSU is the second choice and is receiving serious consideration.

If he goes to USC, no big surprise, but the thread is open for discussion until then.

While there is no doubt he is a tremendous RB prospect, I would love to land this guy and stick him at safety...he is one of the best safetys I have seen on film this year.

osu probably has as good a shot with johnson as they do with ausberry.

usc is obviously recruiting him as a rb since they have their safeties in this class. so, a cali boy, being courted by usc to play rb, with their thin depth chart... I think it's far more likely that osu doesnt run a qb draw this saturday.

rumor has it that RB Emmanuel Moody might be decommitting from Texas and committing to USC. i wonder if this would affect Johnson at all. they are also rumored to be in good shape with DeMarco Murray and LeSean McCoy. i wonder what priority all these backs are for them.

Well Petey is probably telling all them they are his number rb, and then he will stick one at fb and another on defense.

I think Johnson is more of a safety prospect. I know the staff would tell him he can play wherever, but I think he would be a safety.

How the heck did we go from not being in his top 9 in July to reportedly being in his top 2 in September?? Something definetly had to happen to spur that one.

It just came to me. Me believes Fickell is in charge of California. That explains it.

That and the fact that one of the drawbacks to bringing in the top class year after year is that eventually you are going to scare some kids off. I am not saying that Stafon is scared of the competition at USC or that Stafon still won't probably end up at USC. But it happens to every school every couple of years. You have a couple of good years recruiting and then maybe one or two down years when some of the talent is scared off by the depth chart. USC may not be facing that situation right now but they could be in the next year or two, especially if/when PC bolts for the NFL (God willing). It's just a drawback to bringing in such talent every year like USC does.
