maybe he's in town to meet with karen holbrook about the coaching job after holbrook cleans house at tOSU....:nerd::nerd::nerd::nerd::nerd:
I have heard from a source close to the program that talked to Mr. Such and Such that he is interviewing for the AD job. Now this is only a rumor but the source heard it from someone who over heard KH in the bathroom while on her cell phone and this source has always been reliable before. This source also told me that on the plane he over heard him tell his assistant that JT is history when he gets the job.

Oh, I did forget one thing -- he told another guy that R.C. Slocum is headed somewhere, I think his words were along the lines of "R.C.'s house is for sale". Maybe that's rumor mill stuff. He also fielded a call from someone inquiring about a spot on his staff, and he replied "right now I'm just busy with recruiting and I'm not even looking at staff at this point". Which confirms my impression that he's here to see Daniels. So go smoke on that, you conspiracy theorists! :tongue2:

I continue to find it interesting that OSU pulled Adam Myers-White's scholarship partly for (and I'm paraphrasing now...) "stringing OSU along," yet Alex Daniels has rarely had anything nice to say about OSU and continues to get a lot of love from OSU. There are obviously some things I, as a fan, am not privied to, but it wouldn't bother me one bit if OSU cancelled Alex's visit this weekend and pulled the offer after he stated to a gopher reporter that the chances of him being a buckeye were "Slim to None."

Glen Mason has targeted the state of Ohio as a recruiting priority since he arrived at Minnesota and has landed many quality recruits out of the Buckeye state. The commitment of Daniels is believed to the first recruit that Minnesota has landed that had an offer to become a Buckeye. Daniels also had an offer from Oklahoma and made an official visit to Norman in December.[more]</td></tr></tbody> </table>

What confuses me, is that Daniels had opportunities to go to much higher profile programs, such as LSU, Oklahoma, and tOSU - ALL National Champs in the last few years, and chooses Minnesota??

I can't understand going to a school that can't compete for championships, unless you don't want to compete with elite players.

I remember Brett Romberg's remarks about his recruitment - "My last visit was Miami, in January. I went to a class and a few girls came in wearing bikinis to class. I knew right then and there where I was going to go!"

I can understand that choice.

Playing time, Playing time, Playing time. We are chock full of linebackers and any one with middle of the road talent can shine for Minnesota.
