Which is the reason I believe that Coach Stacey mentioned in the Rep that he is going to have sophomores who might be potential D-I players meet with guidance counselors to get them to start taking the right classes early. Andrew will be a solid player wherever he ends up.
I'm personally not sold on Mr. Williams myself. The Federal League just wasn't all that tough this past sreason. Morgan stuffed plenty of stat sheets, but we all know that there is more to a player than his stats. Morgan lived by the long touchdown run and he did that often last season. The...
I've thought the very same thing about some of our recruits. Not that having a good GPA makes you a poor football player. Also, I don't want to insinuate anything, but Tress does have academic achievement bonuses in his contract. Of course those "bonuses" are in the form of scholarship money...
I think Gamble would be best suited as a safety in college, although I could see him developing into a solid corner as well. Don't under-estimate his abilities as a running back as well, the kid is just a freak of an athlete. I think it's quite possible that Brian could have a higher ceiling...
He would fit in nicely to a system like Northwestern or Purdue. However, I think he will end up at a MAC school which really could eb a blessing in disguise considering the recent success of MAC QBs in the NFL.
Gamble is an absolute monster on the football field. I can not wait to see him in Scarlet and Gray. He will be an impact player early in his college career. Gald to see he was at the MSU game. Seems like there were quite a few important football recruits at that game. It would be...
I watched Dailey all season and last season as well. You could tell he was going to be a special player his sophomore year becasue he was all over the field. IMO, his junior year he didn't make as big of a stride as I had expected, however, I think Dailey was playing out of position this whole...
Any word if we are recruiting Sidney Glover from Warren Harding as a safety. He was one of the best safeties I saw last year along with Brian Gamble. Gamble is just an amazing athlete and could play multiple positions.
I wish there was more Ohio talent represented at the Junior combine.
I got a chance to see St. Eds in the state semi-final this season and I was really impressed with their safety/running back (Edmonds was hurt for the majority of the game) I think his last name was Oliver. Also, they have a wideout (literally a wide body) who will grow into a tight end for the...
Since you mentioned '08 Linebackers.......
There is also another Torrence at Canton South playing linebacker and has amazing messurables as a high school sophomore. He was part of the Canton Repository all Stark County team (Div 2&3). When I saw his measurables I was shocked. I'll see if I...
I am actually on the other side of the fence on this one. I think assault should be treated as an assault whether it happens during a game or practice. The bottom line is that you shouldn't punch somebody in the face and not expect consequences. Unless of course it was done in self...
The article you are referring to was in Sunday's edition of the Canton Repository. I will try to find the link and I will post the article for you.

The Article:
Colleges remain on constant watch for rogue...
After reading the article, I don't see how you came to the conclusion that Bollman was trying to cheat. Yeah apparently he made a mistake by calling the tutor, but he states that he thought the Morris family had already hired the tutor. It doesn't sound to me that he intentionally tried to cheat.
I'd have to say Leak with Young a close second. My reseaoning for Leak over Young is that Texas always has a tough defense, so even if Young is hurt, they could rely on their defense. In the case of Leak, I think he HAS to carry his team next year. Maybe somebody could prove me wrong here...
The Rose Bowl would probably threaten to leave the BCS format if they had to field an SEC team versus a PAc-10 team when the Big Ten champ was on the outside looking in. However, as part of their agreement I think they would be locked in with whomever the BCS "picked."
I don't think the 4+1...
Most likely us unfortunately. It would be hard for the BCS folks to screw the reigning champs and the SEC for a second year in a row. At least there would be even more cries for a playoff.
"Ohio State would play in the NC Game, because if we beat Texas we'll definately be in the top 3 after...
there are three undefeated teams as there were this past season? I know this scenario is a rarity, but let's play the what if game. What if USC, Tenn. and our Buckeyes all go undefeated next season? Who plays in the Rose Bowl? Most likely (OK definitely) USC will be preseason #1 in both the...
The coverage of Buckeye football by the Beacon Journal is pretty sad. This guy Tom Reed is like their lead Buckeye reporter and as you might guess from this article, he is a pretty negative person. As a side note, this would be one of the few occasions where I would agree with his perspective.
