'07 OH CB/RB Brian Gamble (Illinois signee)

I think Gamble would be best suited as a safety in college, although I could see him developing into a solid corner as well. Don't under-estimate his abilities as a running back as well, the kid is just a freak of an athlete. I think it's quite possible that Brian could have a higher ceiling than his teammate (Dailey). At any rate, he definately fits into Tressel's speed catergory. I'm sure the staff will find a suitable position for him.

Obviously with Gamble's speed and size, the majority feel he will end up in the defensive backfield. The staff just loves players with versatility.

He can play CB,RB, or Safety but it sounds as if we are recruiting him as a safety if you read Olivers article. He says they want a safety from Massilon and I would think it's probably Gamble they are talking about, not Dailey. Big Buckeye lean and I would like to see an early verbal to help us get Dailey.

That makes me wonder if they're thinking that Clifford is more on the lines of wide receiver? That would really surprise me if Gamble goes to OSU as Safety with Oliver, and Clifford isn't offered.

But if what you're saying is true, I don't think we're taking 3 Safeties. Obviously, you take into account versatility where Gamble could play corner or safety, and Clifford could play receiver or safety.

We have safeties (talented but inexperienced), it's corner where there is opportunity. I'd love to see Gamble verbal, and come in as a corner. But, again, it's speed, big speed, and power categories. Obviously, Gamble is a speed guy.

Many scenarios but I expect us to be going after Clifford and Gamble regardless. Gamble can play CB and Clifford can play WR. I say one of the two happens and we try to get both to go with Oliver.
