Illinois receiver Brian Gamble will miss his second game because of suspension Saturday after an incident near a Champaign bar early Thursday. Gamble is among three freshmen coach Ron Zook suspended after they were cited for city ordinance violations. The others are offensive tackle Mark Jackson and defensive tackle Daryle Ballew, neither of whom have played this season.

Former Massillon Washington High School star Brian Gamble has been removed from the University of Illinois football team along with offensive linemen Mark Jackson, Head Coach Ron Zook confirmed Wednesday.

"Brian Gamble and Mark Jackson have had issues with the university," Zook said. "They had some things from last year that they had to get corrected that they didn't get done. Now, it's an institutional issue. They're not in the program right now.

"We had a pretty good idea that was going to happen. We moved on a long time ago."

Gamble played wide receiver last season for Illinois. He caught a touchdown pass at Ohio Stadium against Ohio State in a game the Buckeyes lost.

mr gamble will be transferring to ashland this fall and is looking to move back to safety as well as ex high school teammate darion mcguire who was a preferred walk on safety at the university of toledo who will be also enrolling and playing football for the university of ashland
