Don't get me wrong, Charleston got over 300 yard on them. I'm surrounded by SEC fans, so I enjoyed that. I've just never heard of them, and I got a ton of flack after OSU played Youngstown state for the opener. Now Fl. plays division 2 (or 3?) teams two weeks in a row?
Enough said about Flor-duh
That's why I says it's coaching - new players, similar results. What's the constant? I love Tressel, but he needs someone in the box giving him plays. All the big programs have gone to that system. Time to enter the 21st century...
Yep. The hype has been too much from the beginning for Pryor. The whole team is young, and they'll only improve. Much like the Texas game in '05, they we're in sync by the 2nd game.
I'm glad they've had a real schedule, unlike other teams. Southern Charleston? Give me a break...
A sad loss, but the team (and crowd) played their hearts out.
Until Tressel hires a real offensive coordinator to call the plays, we're going to get more of the same. I hope this is the FINAL wakeup call.
If I were you, I'd use it a LOT more! From 4th and 23 to 1st and 10, with 15 yards to boot. Just make sure you have a few spare kickers around after he gets clobbered :D
Wow...Tressel was losing it because they weren't making the call, and the announcers had time to replay the intentional grounding before a flag came out.
I agree, LSU executed better than OSU. But I would have liked to see the same criteria applied to both teams actions by the refs. Strange...
The biggest problem was that he shouldn't have gotten to him at all. They did a weird spread pattern that opened a huge hole. He went right up the middle and couldn't get an angle on him. I didn't see a single block on him, which he had to be expecting. Weird...
If you want to believe that, fine. But I would have like to have seen just as tight of a game called against LSU. There were multiple times that an OSU player was hit right after they left the field of play, but no call on LSU. When Boeckman coughed up the fumble, why wasn't LSU called for...
You take the high road, I'll lay blame the at the officials feet. Lousy, one-sided calls - this is amateur athletics, not professional wrestling. I would like to see more scrutiny of the calls in college football, maybe a top 5 worst calls of the week and a means to address them rather than just...
My biggest concern about LSU is the hard fought games that they played. Having to fight for four quarters (and often more) gives you an edge at the end of the year. The Buckeye's were able to shut down their opponents relatively early (especially later in the season). This is great for getting...
Excellent point. LSU is a good team, but they really benefited from some generous calls from the refs in the Auburn game and the replay ref in the Alabama game who called back two key plays from Alabama. ("Indisputable" must mean something else when LSU is on the field - like "Maybe")
I don't...
Absolutely loved the documentary. As an Ohio native and son of a OSU alum I have always been an avid fan of OSU football, even though I moved to Washington when I was just a kid. I have always closely followed the Buckeyes, through the good and (too many) bad years, but few people understand why...
