Thank you. I’m turning into vintage @Gatorubet with the WOTS, so I appreciate a more succinct synopsis.
  6. Coronavirus (COVID-19) is too exciting for adults to discuss (CLOSED)

I’ll try one more time. Your hypothesis appears to be that the Euros are fudging the data because they’re reporting very few recent deaths. An alternative hypothesis is that through their public policy measures, they’ve actually come close to stopping it. A way to test both hypotheses is to look...
  7. Coronavirus (COVID-19) is too exciting for adults to discuss (CLOSED)

I’m talking about TOTAL deaths not total COVID deaths. Absent something unusual, and subject to seasonal variance, the death rate in a given population stays pretty constant. So, if in Spain based on March 2019 data, March 2020 deaths were x% higher than you’d predict, you can reasonably...
  8. Coronavirus (COVID-19) is too exciting for adults to discuss (CLOSED)

Would be good to try to control for improvements in treatment as well. You may be able to find yearly month over month total death data for EU countries. If there’s no significant increase from 2019 to 2020, they’ve probably shut COVID down, although secondary things like fewer deaths from...

The statistic in there about lowest completion statistics may be the greatest example of the the truth of "lies, damned lies, and statistics" of all time. If he was the next Luck, he wouldn't have been sitting behind Mississippi Jesus. Color me unconcerned.

Hell of a read. I’ve noticed that we tend to like similar music, and while his book is mostly about other stuff, I think you’d like it.
  18. What are you currently watching on TV?

Rocket Fuel malt liquor! DAMN!!! I rarely miss celebrities who die young. Phil Hartman is one of the biggest exceptions to that. Just watched the classic “Mastermind” SNL skit the other day.
  19. What book are you currently reading, or recommend?

Just finished “Hollywood Park” by Mikel Jollet.
