    OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

I don't think Francis is going to reconsider Ohio State unless something happens on Carolina's end, but I think MaxBuck is correct in that Columbus is a lot more appealing now than it would have been before the season. Whatever Francis wanted that Carolina offered over Ohio State has been...

Besides, you could argue that Sczerbiak became who he was because of his Miami experience. Would Wally have gained the confidence he gained if he was on a big-time team where he wasn't expected, or even allowed, to carry a team on his back? Playing at a smaller school and having more...

Diebler only put up 12 or 13 a game his three good years with the Bucks, though. Is that possibility okay with Girard? That's all I'm saying. Or does he envision himself putting up Fredette's numbers, which were 22 and 28 his better years at BYU? Was Grandstaff (a higher-ranked prospect with...

When you average 50 points a game in high school, you are accustomed to playing a certain style. I admit I could be wrong, but you just come off as needlessly selfish when that's how you go about the game. 30+ is fine. Occasionally going for 50 or 60, sure. Averaging 50? I don't know what...

    Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Just like against Penn State, Ohio State got exposed for not quite being at the level yet we had hoped that they would be at, but Delaware nailed it. You actually have to tip your hat to UM. They have All-American candidates at every weight but one, and it looks like they really were ready for...

    Bracketology and Selection Sunday Discussion

Huggins had them at a top-ten level program from 1992 to 2005, and Cronin has earned 23 wins a year for eight years in a row. It is going to be awfully hard, psychologically, for the committee to seed a 2 or 3 loss UC team at 3 or lower. I suspect that there isn't much more to these Bearcats...

I always felt like players like this should go to a Rutgers, Penn State or Rhode Island-level of school and develop their game at scoring in vast quantities more than playing at traditional powers, but that's just me. Seems like a guy like him would be happier averaging 25 than playing at a...

    2017-2018 Ohio State Men's Basketball (24-7, 15-3, #2 Seed in B1G Tourney)

I agree, but they have a shiny record and name-recognition. Nobody in college ball is really differentiating themselves enough to prevent it from happening.

Yeah, nothing to really hang your head on the Clemson, UNC, Zaga, and even Butler losses (I hated how it went down at the time, though). The Penn State loss is just one of those big conference things that can happen to anybody. Our schedule has definitely prepared us for any and all comers.

PF/C Micah Potter (transfer to Wisconsin)

He clearly was coached to be more aggressive in that Iowa game, and I like some of his game, but I'm not ready to project those kinds of averages for next year. He's up and down, and prone to fouls a bit too much to be relied on. I would be quite happy if we got the low-end there of 12 and 7...

    SF/PF Keita Bates-Diop (Phoenix Suns)

My favorite part of the clip is the exuberant leaping by the Boilerette cheerleaders after Tate misses the bunny....only to realize what's going down.

PG Andrew Dakich (2018 B1G Sportsmanship Award, Illinois St. Assistant Coach)

He had some turnovers and poor shots in the Purdue game that almost make you think he isn't quite worthy of PT, but he's hard to keep down, making quite a few nice plays down the stretch. The pass to Jallow for 3, the drive for a layup, and the hustle to get the ball back were awesome!

Ohio State @ Purdue, Wednesday, 830 pm, BTN

I haven't really had a problem with the refs all season; they make bad calls. However, this was the most egregiously poorly reffed game I've seen against the Bucks all year. I mean, easily ten head-scratching calls, besides the bad no-call on Haas. It was bad. And we won. At Purdue. Down...

Ohio State @ Purdue, Wednesday, 830 pm, BTN

The only real threat I feel from Purdue (they're a good, not "great" team) is the fact that we have been lit up a few times this year from 3....which is something they do quite well. Their team shoots 50% from the field, 75% from the FT line, and 43% from 3. They shoot well. If they get it...

Ok, that Illinois game was ugly, the Kam thing didn't help, it's the middle of winter, and the B1G sucks this year. That being said, it is the B1G, and every single team you face has at least one or two studs who are capable of going off on anybody in the country at any given time. The B1G has...
