2019 standouts announce leaders
To kickoff the weekend for the Buckeyes a pair of the most sought after prospects in the entire class of 2019 trimmed their list of potential college stomping grounds.
When it comes to recruiting before you land a pledge you’ll usually be named on some kind of leader list. Naming Ohio State among their top options on Friday, four-star wide receiver
TJ Sheffield, and offensive tackle
Devontae Dobbs took to their Twitter pages to share with the world their current top lists of colleges.
Sheffield, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound speedster from Independence High in Thompson’s Station, Tenn., started things off by dropping his top four of Ohio State, Purdue, Notre Dame and Arkansas.
Trimming things down from over a dozen offers, Sheffield, a four-star recruit who accounted for nearly 900 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior, will have a tough decision ahead of him.
Taking a visit during the spring to the Ohio State campus, he has plans to make it back for one of his official college trips before announcing his commitment in the coming months.
Just hours after Sheffield cut his recruitment to four, Dobbs released his final eight schools.
I am truly blessed to be put in this position. I want to thank all of the coaches that offered me a full scholarship. However, at this time I will be focusing on the 8 schools listed below.

Still in the mix for the 6-foot-4, 270-pound lineman are OSU, USC, Georgia, Oklahoma, Clemson, Auburn, Florida State and the
Michigan State Spartans.
Once seemed as an OSU lean by some, things have since changed with instate Michigan State now looked as the frontrunner to land the Belleville, Mich., native.
While the Buckeyes might not end up with either Sheffield or Dobbs when it’s all said and done, it’s a good sign to how much top notch recruits respect what Urban Meyer and crew are putting together in Columbus.

- Penn State has offered 2019 Ohio State verbal commit Bryson Shaw a scholarship. A Buckeye pledge since last month, the Maryland native was once committed to the University of Wisconsin before flipping to the Scarlet and Gray.
- Class of 2020 quarterback and now former OSU target Hudson Card verbally committed to the University of Texas on Friday. A Lake Travis (TX) product, Card, has played alongside Buckeye true freshman quarterback Matthew Baldwin, and 2019 verbal commit Garrett Wilson during his time with the Cavaliers.
